Auto Credit Based on WinsWings's MAPA Challenge [CLOSED]
Designed in 1933, the Polikarpov I-16 is a light, single engine, single seat fighter. Innovative upon its introduction, as the worlds first low wing cantilever monoplane fighter with retractable landing gear, it had begun to show its age by WWII, but served until 1943. Many were sent to aid in the defense of China, serving under the Republic of China Air Force valiantly against the Japanese invaders.
Random trivia: I put the 88 numbering on the fuselage as a reference to the NRA 88th Division, the "800 heroes" who stood against thousands of Japanese and defended Sihang Warehouse during the Battle of Shanghai. There is an excellent film called "The Eight Hundred" about this event, that I would highly recommend

I'll be working on a higher part count, more detailed and armed version to release soon

@ForwardUntoDawn Halo name, yet not one plane from halo…
@ForwardUntoDawn Thanks!
@Flewey it's actually super easy, just follow this tutorial https://www.simpleplanes.com/Forums/View/1454422/So-Jundroo-accidentally-added-1-part-custom-images-to-the-game
By the way, loved "八百". One of my favorite movies. The Chinese have this talent to make incredibly moving movies.
Might I ask how you got the insignia on the wing using a text part? I've been trying to figure that our for a while now...
I will make this someday.
@toorbokkot I know
@SheriffHackdogMCPE its Republic of China
I didn't know taiwan had soviet aircraft 😱
铁翼蔽空 马达齐鸣 美丽的锦绣河山 辉映着无敌机群 技术发明日日新 血汗永固中华魂
Nicely done. ROCAF performed way better than their ground force in ww2
@WinsWings Thanks!
@WinsWings Okay
@Bryan5 yes. I know. But it's Taiwan now, and which was the original Chinese government during WW2
@WinsWings it's actually the Republic of China marking during WW2, that now serve in the flag of Taiwan(what's left of WW2 Republic of China).
Love that Taiwanese marking
@ForwardUntoDawn no worry. Entry accepted.
@WinsWings sorry for being a day late on the challenge
