The X-12 SwitchBlade's design started on October 19th 2012 as an experimental Multirole Superjet. It will have an arsenal of weaponry to handle anything that was in its path being equipped with 8 AAM, 4 ASM, and 4 high explosive bombs. Being an experimental aircraft, it has not seen combat yet, but is expected to see combat around 2030-2045. The X-12 is also designed with a 360 degree around cockpit view for the pilot to be able to visually see around instead of by instuments in the cockpit. It has a red colored cockpit with high levels of polarization for help in protection from the sun blinding pilots therefore allowing pilots to fly directly towards the sun making enemy pilots unable to pursue. Its AAM are also experimental in design as a new high speed, high maneuverability missile called the X-3 SmokeScreen. Overall, this jet will in theory be able fill almost any role of any other aircraft excluding reconnaissance, naval, and some bombers (like the B-52).
