I spent hours on this and it still doesn’t fly well. Unable to take off from water. To lift the struts push the VTOL all the way up.

try adding wing panels on the underbelly, the physics work better that way, like this

Ok. I believe I’ve made some improvements. Unfortunately, it still won’t lift from water. It seems to be a double edge sword. The undercarriage adds drag, but it also acts like a rudder to keep it safe. The floats add drag, even after I modified the end to create less drag, but no float, it’s unstable. Stripped down, the fastest speed I managed was about 179kph. I thought about adding a ski just behind the front wheel, that would lift the nose slightly, but I couldn’t figure it out as a quick fix, and making one and adding it kinda defeats the purpose.

If there was a bit of weight just behind the rear landing gear, it might lift the nose just enough. I’m going to try that out now. I’ll also try adding some lift control to the wings just to get some of the body up.

With regular flying it’s remarkably better. Still nose heavy but the wings provide enough lift to control it. It’s not as pretty as it was, the floats are fixed for now, but it’s coming along.

It’s very nose heavy. As soon as it lifts it wants to come down. I thought it was me at first.
