Whats the Story in Krakabola?

So, it’s the early 90s, and Krakabola Air Transport (Shortened to KAT), the archipelago’s national airline sought out to modernise their ageing fleet. The main focus of their business was transporting small amounts of passengers between the many islands of Krakabola, which often meant landing on small, rugged airstrips.

The airline set its eyes upon the RCP Enginrering D-01-200, which began mass production only 4 years earlier . They were attracted by it’s affordability and strong landing gear, which gave it the ability to land almost anywhere.

So it was, KAT ordered two D-01s to serve their major routes between the larger towns, along with five turboprops from Sekra Aerospace to serve the more minor routes. This renewed fleet also came with a renewed livery. In this new livery, the tail design featured a volcano (Mount Krakabola) with the sun rising behind it.

The Incident

On June 6th, 2009 a KAT D-01-200 suffered a bird strike immediately after takeoff, causing power loss in both engines. Unable to turn back to the airport, the pilots decided to make an emergency landing in shallow water at a nearby beach. Only minor injuries were reported and all passengers were compensated in money.
The aircraft in question was decided to be repaired.

Today

Today, all aircraft previously mentioned still fly for KAT, and have helped improve transport links between rural communities in Krakabola.

PS. Pretend Krakabola is a lot larger than it is in game
PSS. It’s my birthday :)
