English Electric Wollongong MKI 1.9
So as the English Electric Canberra was so successful, the company decided to petition the MOD for a contract for a smaller light bomber to replace aircraft such as the Vickers Wellington, DH Mosquito and the like.
Designed using a scaled down version of the rolls royce nene (Canberra had scaled up version so why not?) with 4 mounted in the easily accessible pods either side of the fuselage allowing for combat damage to be easily repaired, engines to be maintained and increased survivability the Wollongong was born.
Named in the fashion of EE after a city in the country first to purchase the aircraft (thankyou Australia, your city names are epic). AG1 for flaps, landing gear for landing gear funnily enough. So much for me slowing down on builds, im having fun so sue me =) Rambospammer is here to stay.

@RamboJutter, np :)
@CrazyCatZe thanks :)
Good work :)
@RamboJutter yeah the F-4 has an anhedral flat v-tail, though still rather clear from the exhaust.

If anything, a t-tail or a cruciform tail would do the trick. I really like the plane's current looks btw.
I want one of these IRL... I'm not even joking...
@CenturiVonKikie yeah sort of, have a look at an f4 phantom, I was going to put down thrust on them to angle it below but it looked daft, I should have put a heat shield on the leading edge
It looks really neat, but what bothers me about it is that the vtail is right in the exhaust stream of the two top engines, a very prominent flaw if it were to be a real aircraft.
@RamboJutter THX for the information!
@ThomasRoderick yeah its the same cockpit as the vagabond, this arrangement was common of the era vixen, canberra BI etc. Used by radar operator/ navigator etc
Soooo... The cockpit is shared with the Vagabond, and is the side-window used for celestial navigation?
@Spitfirelad05 thanks :) this is fictional though.
@RamboJutter You are a really good builder for non-fictonal aircraft! keep up the good work! :D
@AWESOMENESS360 thanks, the sea vixen and canberra have similar set ups (british aircraft used to try for side by side tandem instead of the american way of infront and behind seating).
I love the cockpit design, very unique!
@BogdanX ooooops....
Cool!
@ThePilotDude Thanks! I do like taking something known and adding or altering it in another way with bits from other aircraft, you can get some awesome looking planes =)
@ThePilotDude I'll admit to sort of cheating on this one, I used the fus, wing and tail from seperate previous builds then just added the rest :) I find building relaxing so usually get an hour or so a night in as well. Thanks for the votes, anything you want to see in the future? (I have a biiig flying wing, a push pull and a meteor alternative in the works so far)
