Baja Truck IV(Rally Challenge)

23.4k marcox43  8.4 years ago
Auto Credit Based on TheNightmare811's (CLOSED) Rally challenge Summer 2016

i maded some modifications to improve balance, includind 2 wing plates to stabilize flight, as ever the controls are wasd for driving, act1 for lights and 2 for turbo. i also added my favorite number as a decal. now weights a bit less and can survive longer on high jumps, however this truck is not designed to be jumping like a crazy, is to drive smoothly across the desert or whatever surface that has bumps and a few jumps. it does nicely on rattlesnack racetrack and even on jump zone it can jump by both sides. enjoy this truck ;)

I did actually. That’s how I managed to create successful solid axle suspension. @marcox43

@LiamW hahahaha, no problem. Did you learn how was the suspension built?

I saved this as a favourite 2 years ago to seen how you made this suspension. I meant to upvote it after I tested it but it seems I forgot lol @marcox43

@marcox43 well the suspension at its base design isn't that good at handling hard jumps. you built this as a rally car. and the 2 racing tracks we have in game. are a lot more extreme than a rally car (or truck I should say) can handle. the travel space is just too short. and way to easy to bottom out. The truck handles fine. really. it has a few kinks but its fine. it just isn't at its core design able to do these intense jumps and such. Traction change to make it handle much better. but you won't be able to get it to do those tracks. what you need to prepare for those is something with a lot more travel. a much wider wheel base. and some re-enforced suspension.

@Typhlosion130 ok, i have a version of this in the computer with hardened suspension that can handle the jumps. But AI just keeps it wabbling, ill try with my modified version when the computer is unoccupied. Thank you very much for the info :D, i actually dont know very much of traction xdd

@marcox43 Back wheels. manual traction control. 150% on both. front wheels. manual traction control. 50% forwards. 100% sideways. as for AI control. well the suspension doesn't have enough travel and is too soft for the current races. and your wings for "flight stability" do more harm than good. you could use a bit of vertical wings if you can get them on the center of mass or close but thats about it. and if you want AI to control it good try a 20 degrees turning angle for AI.

It is fairly good. it just doesn't have the suspension to handle the actuall race tracks.

@Typhlosion130 this is the baja truck im talking, the problem is that under AI control, it does donuts everywhere and cant afford more than 75mph of his actual 150mph under human control.

@Smasher only in videogames, I tried to replicate the suspension travel and functioning, but still having troubles when it comes to steering, also real ones arent suposed to go 170mph xdd

@marcox43 naa dont worry ive worked out that the problem just now its a merged part and you need to mod to merge parts without exploding

@Smasher wow, thats annoying, i´ve never had that issue with this truck, but stragely happens a lot when i put replica planes under AI control

@Smasher when jumping or just spawning? because it tends to explode when performing too hard landings
