[LHI] USS Missouri BB-63
It’s funny thinking about how the whole defensive thing was supposed to be targets with as low of a part count as possible. Turns out it doesn’t matter how simple your guns are when there’s a million of them…
Also auto credit died again
Original build here
Version without oerlikons (870 parts) here
- The Defensive warships series hopes to make killing AI warship targets with aircraft 10x harder. (and fun) All ships have a semi-realistic AA complement, with guns that all have semi-realistic ranges, muzzle velocities, firing arcs, and etc.
- (wiki)
USS Missouri (BB-63) is an Iowa-class battleship built for the United States Navy (USN) in the 1940s and is a museum ship. Completed in 1944, she is the last battleship commissioned by the United States. The ship was assigned to the Pacific Theater during World War II, where she participated in the Battles of Iwo Jima and Okinawa and shelled the Japanese home islands. Her quarterdeck was the site of the surrender of the Empire of Japan, which ended World War II.

Notes
- Posted 2 builds at once so my quota for the next 3 years is fulfilled!
- Started standardizing the flak barrage thing from Yamato so you shouldn't be met with the wrath of the gods beyond 7.16km anymore
- I don't remember if this happened with this or Montana but as usual they may blow up on spawn, if so just respawn them and they'll be good to go.
- More builds that aren't Japanese or American (As well as DB/DV builds) are coming eventually, I'm just building up the sanity to spend on making entirely new weapons for other nations. (cough cough Germany cough cough Bismarck) Also school exists sadly
Enjoy getting obliterated!

@ThomasRoderick Atlanta is in the works, and Des Moines is definitely a possibility, but I'm gonna be taking a short break from LHI to re-focus on the defensive bombers/vehicles series for now
@TemporaryReplacement I'm a simple man - I see good build, I upvote.
Also, any plans on making Atlanta and Des Moines? The Atlanta-class is what you cram the maximum number of 5"/38 guns into the smallest hull possible, while the Des Moines is pretty much the US Navy's answer to the question "How many tons of proximity-fuzed shells can one ship lob into the air per minute".
@ThomasRoderick dude, i just woke up to about 38 SP notifications lmao, thank you so much
(Glad you like it!)
Ah, the embodiment of MOAR DAKKA, and the greatest flak barge we've ever got. Attacking them without guided munitions or submarines (or both) sounds like a real pain in the arse. Good they're on our side though!
Nice :D
