M.W. 10 Mk.6F Light Bomber
BACKSTORY:
The M.W. 10 was designed to be a high-speed bomber and had many versions and revisions, but never got to production due to constant maintenance/engine issues. Early versions did prove combat worthy, but at the cost of having to use larger, bulkier, and less efficient engines, which in the long run, were more reliable. Therefore, the M.W. 10 Mk.6 was made, swapping out the problematic engines with outdated ones, and creating a larger airframe to accommodate the extra fuel needed for the less fuel efficient engines in long range missions. In the end, another problem popped up. How was the plane going to carry bombs if the fuselage was filled with fuel? Well, the wing thickness was increased, and the two fuselage mounted 500 lb bombs were swapped up with ten wing-mounted 50 kg (110 lb) bombs. The bomb bay and one crew member could then be removed from the plane, making it lighter, and slightly faster. The fixed gear were replaced with brand-new retractable gear. The gear were slow at moving because it was still being introduced to M.W. aircraft, and finally, the aircraft was no longer tarp, but thick sheets of heavy, and somewhat bullet-resistant aluminum alloy. The plane was finally finished, and the M.W. 10 Mk.6F was ready for battle.
INFO:
The M.W. 10 is a very stable and relatively swift aircraft. It’s bomb load might not be that impressive, but a group of them can level entire towns/cities. The plane features a custom cockpit, a manually controlled gunner, gun sights, and plenty of fuel for island-to island mayhem.
