[Gold Special] NS-1A Unmanned ground-effect vehicle

5,581 JSTQ  3 days ago

what? Are you asking me if I made this thing up?

No, it has a prototype (CHT1 in China)

PEAK COMBAT STANDARD!

NS-1A unmanned ground-effect vehicle serves as a critical component of the Antaeus Alliance's littoral defense doctrine. Specializing in swarm assault tactics, it leverages its subsonic penetration capability and low detectability to execute rapid strikes while deploying HL-1A stealth anti-ship missiles. Although a single NS-1A can only carry two missiles, its effectiveness derives from dual advantages: Firstly, the HL-1A possesses exceptional stealth characteristics and terminal penetration capabilities; secondly, hostile fleets typically face concentrated attacks from dozens of NS-1As simultaneously.
Raise the speed to 200km/h for takeoff and allow opening of the magazine

NS-1A:

As early as the planning stages of M-War II,the Antaeus Alliance had already initiated comprehensive military
force evaluations.

Air Force Assessment
Back during the planning stages of M-War II, the Antaeus Alliance was already conducting military capability assessments.

"Regarding airpower: While the Royalists do possess a diverse fleet of aircraft, our own designs are technologically competitive. Sure, they might look utilitarian compared to their gaudy counterparts—oh, you think flashier planes perform better? Then why don't you try retrofitting them with HMDs? Bottom line: Our air force isn't obsolete. When defending sovereign airspace, we coordinate seamlessly with ground-based air defense systems to repel intrusions. The RB107 incident? Our air units were deliberately withheld from that engagement."

Army Evaluation
"As for ground forces: Admittedly, our hastily assembled heavy combined arms brigades aren't meant to trade punches head-on with the Royalists' polished armor divisions. But that's irrelevant—we operate under a combined arms firepower doctrine. Our artillery units, equipped with advanced fire-control systems and precision-guided munitions, are fully capable of fulfilling strategic defensive requirements. Plus, our layered air defense networks provide critical coverage. Why do the Royalists keep launching successful airstrikes, you ask? Why ask me? How should I know they can declare victory in press releases before even engaging?"

Naval... Situation
"Do we even have a navy?"

The entire revolutionary coalition couldn't field a single vessel with meaningful tonnage!

This is where things get dire—our revolutionary forces possess no meaningful naval capabilities beyond three attack submarines. For perspective: the Royalists field 32 of the same class, alongside a formidable surface fleet. Compounding the crisis, the Antaeus Alliance lacks credible anti-ship solutions (though we possess conventional missiles—only the FT-series anti-ship variants are combat-worthy).

Amid the chaos, an unexpected voice cut through the panic:
"You mean to say you don't even have a navy? Wow....
I can give you a little pointer there. Try do what the MDA did in the previous M-War, when our enemies had a massive navy and we had none. I made Assault Dinghies. They can be fitted with torpedoes, to take out large craft, and mass produced because they are so cheap."
@windshifter1

Though he belongs to the opposing faction, we nearly erected his statue at our naval academy entrance—until someone pointed out the bitter punchline: "Wait, we don't even HAVE a naval academy!" Fine, the monument remains a... hypothetical debt.

The guru's doctrine fundamentally reshaped our approach. Determined to pay homage, we attempted to replicate his legendary M-War stratagem—only to confront surreal reality:
"They literally strapped four torpedoes to lifeboats?!"

While we weren't part of the previous M-War, we're certain this approach would become the Royalists' favorite joke for the next two and a half years. Yet beneath the absurdity lies strategic truth: torpedoes remain capital ship killers regardless of delivery platforms.

All aircraft and vessels are merely weapon delivery systems. Littoral defense nullifies range and reconnaissance requirements—the equation simplifies to payload effectiveness per unit cost. Our revised doctrine crystallizes:
"Maximize disposable torpedo platforms. Let the Royalists laugh at the dinghies... until their destroyers start sinking."
Conventional wisdom dictates that speedboats should suffice for naval rapid assault in littoral defense scenarios. But here's the catch: equipping speedboats would limit us to torpedoes—and while we do have the QY-1 electric torpedo, its notorious unreliability is precisely why we shelved it. This seems like a dead end... unless we rewrite the rules.

Ground-effect vehicles—activate!

Theoretically flawed? Absolutely. Cold War-era prototypes crashed when hitting waves at high speeds. But this isn't the 20th century—AI-driven navigation systems now predict wave patterns (not that the simulation even models waves, but still). Traditional ground-effect craft's bulk made them radar magnets, dooming surprise attacks. Solution? Miniaturized drones leveraging modern stealth composites.

Months after the RB107 fleet ambush, during the reconstruction of White Island Outpost, an oddly shaped "aircraft" ascended at 200 km/h. Ten meters above the sea, it accelerated beyond 800 km/h—a silver blur skimming the waves.

Behold the outpost's guardian: NS-1A.

Comparable in size to a heavy fighter yet capable of sea-skimming flight, it evades long-range radar detection. Mach-tier velocity grants blistering penetration capability. By the time enemy warships register its presence, the drone has already disengaged—leaving them to face the "masterpiece" of TFMR technology (questionable): the HL-1A.

HL-1A

*Let's cut through the specs: The HL-1A, as a prototype, isn't flawless—its guidance tends to glitch when tracking maneuvering targets. But against sluggish ships plodding below 100 km/h? It's brutally efficient. *

The NS-1A's two-missile payload seems underwhelming... until you consider game mechanics. Standard missiles get decoyed into oblivion, making torpedoes look tempting. Most commanders would waste this platform.

But not me. Ever seen TFMR's monster FT missiles?

Building on the ZG-6A's framework and fresh R&D, we kept the FT series' original guidance logic but added crude lead calculation—more than enough for barn-sized maritime targets.

Survivability dictated the design:
- Wave-hugging flight at 3 meters (essentially a repulsorlift stabilizer)
- Stealth coating during mid-course phase
- 4200kmh terminal sprint within 5 km
Yes, it's borderline OP. Let's be real.

Now for the quirks:
The missile's velocity governor tracks relative target speed. Its scramjet transition isn't seamless—sometimes overshooting. But here's the kicker: When missing, the gyroscopic vectoring triggers AoA maneuvers. This thing literally U-turns like a vengeful hornet unless physically destroyed.

That all, have fun!

@RB107 Yeah, it's really great for me, but can I rest? More than ten hours ago, I had another argument with UnitedinOne90 because he inexplicably bombed my military camp. If that's all, I just need to ignore him. The problem is that this matter was instructed by TUPL. There are too many royalists, I think one mouthful of saliva per person can submerge the Isle of Wight. Just now, one of my allies told me that he surrendered, but fortunately he didn't exert too much force throughout the entire process. Throughout the entire half month of the war, apart from my retaliatory counterattack and the person who had already surrendered, I have not seen any revolutionaries launch an attack. There are a total of four revolutionaries in the camp, one surrendering, one hanging up throughout the entire process, and one with good equipment, but I don't know what they are doing, so now the pressure has shifted entirely to me. Why can I say this? Because my work is clearly for defense, as you can see, it's just a special attack on surface ships. If it wants to anti submarine, it needs to be equipped with an electric torpedo that has a huge performance difference due to equipment reasons. Once you start fixing your weaknesses, you will find that your loopholes are so huge that it seems like you can't fill them all, that's all... (Don't comfort me, because there is a hidden second half of this sentence)

@JSTQ For now, you can rest. I will share an important information: RRHI's fleet, Guardian of the waves is currently back to RRHI's main factory (very very far away from snowstone). So they shouldn't bother you (and i can take rest there too uwu)

@RB107 It's just the most basic strategic literacy.
As for the number of air defenses... I don't know, it's just a string of numbers. I don't want to fill it in, I only know that I have two air defenses - SBS-2 and ZG-6A.
Let them attack, we... have no way to resist them, even survival is our top priority. We can only take a desperate gamble…

Most of the royalists who attack you just like not aware of every defense you make... How many is your air defence? In number please, I have difficulty calculating it myself =D
