Short Description

The Project 435 destroyer is a relatively small ship for its class. The ship is designed for operations in the open sea and near the coast and carries a balanced set of offensive and defensive weapons, but due to its modest size, bordering on a frigate, it has a rather small ammunition capacity.

History

Project 435 was designed to replace the obsolete Project 404 in the naval forces. This project is one of two that were competed, along with the larger 445, designed for long-range missions. Project 435, on the other hand, was designed as a mass-produced ship for defense and operations in low-intensity conflict zones in order to reduce production and supply costs for each individual ship.

“Ludvika” is one of the first ships of this class to be built. Most of its service was spent in the vicinity of the naval base, which coincidentally was also called “Ludvika”. This base was located in a relatively small enclave far away from the main lands and near several regularly warring nations. However, it had never gone beyond a few anti-aircraft missile launches, so the service had been quite peaceful, though not quiet.

Weapons

100 mm autocannon

Automatic large caliber gun, used more as an auxiliary armament than as a main armament.

Cutlass CIWS (30 mm autocannon x 2)

CIWS with rapid-fire autocannons and independent targeting and tracking radar is used as the last line of air defense and as a weapon against small maneuvering targets.

Short-range SAM with fast and maneuverable missile for ship defense at short range. To reduce lags, each launcher is filled with only 9 missiles instead of 21. (In-game designated as RIM-116, on which they were based)

Rb. 145

Long-range vertical-launch SAM system. Suitable for engaging targets beyond the range of short-range SAMs. In order to reduce lags, only 8 missiles out of 32 are loaded.

In addition to its primary purpose as an anti-aircraft weapon, the missile can be used in extreme cases to strike radio-visible surface targets, but this is not recommended because of the weakening of the ship's overall anti-aircraft defense.

Rb. 161 A

Standard long-range subsonic anti-ship cruise missile. It is the main pro-ship armament. In the current version, 8 of the ship's 16 universal launch cells are loaded with this type of missile.

Rb. 167

A medium-range supersonic anti-ship missile. Due to its high speed, the missile is a rather difficult target for enemy air defense, but due to its shorter range and higher production cost it is not the main armament of the ship. It is designed to hit targets protected by strong air defense.

2. So the ship's small ammunition is reduced, for my calculator does not allow me such a luxury as 74 anti-aircraft missiles.
