Albatross (slow flight demonstrator)
So, @Chancey21 asked me to make a slow-flying, highly maneuverable aircraft that stalls at 40 mph; this is it. Cruise speed is a sedate 250 mph, but this being a SledDriver Industries build, if you change your mind mid-flight and need to get somewhere fast, just engage afterburners to zip along at ~2000 mph.
Handling
The Albatross is highly maneuverable and very easy to fly and land. GIven the large range of speeds (40 mph - 2000+ mph) this aircraft can achieve, there are two sensitivity levels for both roll and pitch, and two trim controls (heavy and fine). AG2 engages high sensitivity mode; you will want this on at low speeds. VTOL is the heavy trim control, while Trim is for fine trim adjustments. Default trim is optimized to make the aircraft fly level at full throttle in both cruise and afterburner modes. The heavy trim control should only be used at speeds lower than about 150 mph. With both trim controls set to full nose-up position (both sliders pulled all the way down), the Albatross will fly level at about 7% throttle (~65 mph). Below that, you need to pitch up.

- AG1: Boost mode (afterburner)
- AG2: High-sensitivity mode (Pitch and roll)

@ViciousTNT Sure, hi. No need to be formal, I only do that with people I don't like.
@SledDriver Oh, may I also introduce myself too?
@swiftGrumpycat Welcome to SledDriver Industries.
This fly's too well even when you take it apart and put it back tougher IT STILL FLY'S!
@Misterman124 it's good to have imagination, isn't it.
Finally someone who focused on flight characteristics and not just looks and its irl top speed
@SledDriver idk how you figure all this out
@parjay See here
You probaly get asked this a lot but how is there no landing gear
Under 500 this time? You, sir, are getting an upvote.
Around the wings, what I normally see was circular edge
But this time the edges are smooth @SledDriver
Thanks, @CRJ900Pilot
@Spectre2520 Thanks, but what do you mean by smooth style?
@Texasfam04 Yeah, I might have an idea...
Nice! Love how it can handle like a stol but fly like a rocket at the same time. Also the triangle shape is very appealing
Very impressive how the control is so good while at 2000 mph
I also love the SD sign there
Probably the first time I ever see you use smooth style@SledDriver
i would love to see you try it out. Ive been testing a lot of different things out trying to get away from the "boxy" cargo look and its been really difficult.@SledDriver
Thanks, @Texasfam04. It's probably impossible to have a usable cargo bay and maintain the smoothness of the fuselage. I might give it a try.
Perfect, thanks
Flies really well and I love the design! I also like the multi stage afterburners..have you thought about doing a cargo plane? with a usable cargo bay?
Thanks, @Strikefighter04
Cool!
