Whifteen PA-25 Dingo
Main description
The Whifteen PA-25 Dingo is an piston-powered airliner, it was considered a successful airliner since it can be a long-medium range airliner and is considered efficent in terms of fuel. The production run of this aircraft was from the early 40s to the mid 50s.
History
A new aircraft company that just started a few years prior, decided to go on the line of airliners, and so started making them. After a few years of design studies and various plannings, the first airliner product was the PA-25, a airliner with 4 engines and a max speed of 200 MPH.
In terms of service, it was heavily used in Europe, South Africa, Asia, and Africa as those regions were the most popular for this aircraft. However North America was not a good region, considering there are many competitors, like Douglas, Boeing, etc.
In total, production list was over 500 aircraft long, however due to World War 2, those orders were temporarily reduced to 200 because of dire need of metal and other resources needed.
A special variant, the MA-25, was from a few converted PA-25 aircraft and had gunner turrets and bombs attached as modifications.
After World War 2, the orders were extended to the original that were needed, and so production was restarted. Decades after, the last PA-25 was retired, and scrapped. However, thankfully a PA-25, numbered (236), is on display, in Australia.
