As you can probably tell I have taken the P.1030 and created another one of Camm’s drawings, the P.1027. This particular design was plucked from the depths of a google image search and in my opinion is rather a beautiful design. The “Cyclone” name is not my own branding but was read in a forum somewhere in the internet. I rather liked whoever’s idea it was to give that name to the design so it stuck. I’ve wandered off piste from the design with the exhaust configuration. This was inspired by RamboJutter’s Sea Fury and I rather liked the attention to detail he put in to it. My attempts at the exhaust however are rather crude by comparison but I hope the overall effect has been achieved!
The P.1027 was essentially a slightly enlarged tempest powered by the mighty Rolls-Royce R.46 engine. This was projected to produce 2,500-4000 hp and reach speeds of up to 500mph. With looks to rival the spitfire and performance to blow your socks off, the P.1027 would have been a thing to behold. Alas, she remained confined to paper....until now!

Had a run in with those on my Buffalo build.... I think they were a bit dated by the advent of WW2 but still ok for bombers as they were reliable if I remember rightly. @ThomasRoderick
For a second I thought you are using Wright Cyclone engines...
Thanks matey! The lanc was my first serious attempt at a «proper» replica, built on an iPhone6. Ive since gotten an iPhone8 and learned a wee bit about how to build interiors/wings/custom bits (gear, control surfaces, gun sights etc). Although doing a «proper» Folland Gnat is sort of tempting, too...@Tang0five
Or maybe the venerable Halifax? I thought your lanc was a cracking build! @GhostHTX
Im not too sure; Im thinking about taking a fresh dig at the Lancaster, since Ive gotten a better iPhone and learned a thing or two since my first attempt. Or maybe another jet. This kite here is bloody epic. I really like the canopy frame detailing. @Tang0five
@Tang0five np, ooo a stars n stripes design eh, sounds fun.
Your too kind, good to hear from you again! What’s in the pipeline for yourself then, I really enjoyed your Saab - compliments the sabre and migs that you’ve done in the past too. @GhostHTX
Crikey. This is a hot kite. Good job, old boy!
@MEERKAT978 @SarcasticCommander @SledDriver and @Mumpsy many thanks again guys!
@RamboJutter cheers again buddy! Working on a Yankee bird with a twist of the o’ Blighty about her.
Thank you once more! @ChiChiWerx I still thinks it’s a little too agile for realism and the speed at height a little unrealistic but it’s been sat around for a while now so thought I’d just roll with it!
Nice, drones destroyed with ease!
THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK
@EternalDarkness @Razor3278 and @VerySaltySniper thanks guys! You’ll be happy to know I’m not doing anything else by Sydney Camm for a while at least!
