The M45 was released on January 1st, 1999 to compete with other aircraft such as the MD-80 and MD-90, Douglas DC9, and Boeing 727.

Not very much M45s were sold though and it didn’t get very popular. The range on the M45 wasn’t great as it was equivalent to a Q-400.

The M45 takeoff speed is 150 mph and suggested cruising speed is 650 mph.

The M45 was very fast, meaning it can reach it’s destination quicker, so it was found as a business jet a lot.
