Submarine Kit

Here's a selection of Subassemblies from my submarines! Mainly for use by people without access to XML modding, though useful for people with it too!

  • 1)3, 4, 5, 6, and 7 bladed marine propellers.

  • 2)Three different kinds of scaled hull pieces. One normal (White), another with no collisions for torpedo/weapon compartments (Gray), and one with no collisions, mass, or drag for decorative parts (Red).

  • 3)The ballast system I use, a rotator and wing engine kept level by a gyroscope. Used for making the sub float or sink.

  • 4)A special control surface wing made for underwater control! Great for submarine hydroplanes and marine rudders. It's colored pink so you can find it easy.

Note: If you build a sub with these parts don't forget the neutral buoyancy! Take and attach two fuselage blocks, set them to 100% buoyancy and adjust their size till your craft neither sinks nor floats. Also adjust their positions near the ends of the sub to help keep it level.

If you have access to XML modding, you can simply set the fuselage blocks to 100% and increase the buoyancy by a precise number till you get the result.

@WIZARD2017 Neat! And yea if only rockets had damage and explosion scalars.

    Check this bro!
Rocket power torpedo, no limit of depth.
7 parts only, except for too less damage.

@WIZARD2017 Best of luck! And yea I mean having the weapons disappear at some point is understandable given an endlessly falling bomb might cause issues, but having it so low is kinda ridiculous. They should least make torpedoes immune, since they naturally float to the surface.

Cannon based sounds cool. I don’t know why is this happening, there is no reason for devs to make this feature in purpose, I have reported this as a bug hoping this could be fixed.
I think piston-control is still the best way so far, I’ll try improve it making it doesn’t looks too weird.@MintLynx

@WIZARD2017 Tried and it seems like that claim I heard wasn't right, doesn't seem to accept that into its overload menu. I've used custom made torpedoes (and missiles) based which use bombs on pistons that hoist them above the disappear mark. I've also made cannon based torpedoes which stay connected via custom winches but have to be manually detonated. The cannon torpedoes are 100 percent water safe though, and can be detonated at any depth.

Is waterproof only works for bombs? How deep can a waterproof bomb dive, I'm considering changing the aircraft's torpedo to bomb.@MintLynx

@WIZARD2017 My Gato has pistons which automatically hoist them above the disappearing mark. One of these can only seem to hold 4 without them inexplicably freaking out but it does work. I've heard somewhere, though don't know if its true, that adding waterproof to bombs will make them disappear at a deeper depth.

Hey, do you have any idea of avoiding the torpedos disppear in deep water?

@Bismark Free to use! That's why I uploaded them, keep in mind they're made for a more advanced method of making submarines, so be prepared to make careful adjustments. Also watch out for glitches, these are very powerful wing based engines.

does anyone else have a problem with these getting "wobbly" when attached to really large builds?

@BurkeEnterprise I think they're around X4, with their size set to 5 on each side so I think These could work for you!

Hey, are the scaled hull pieces scaled x 3? I’m in need of a x 3 scaled hollow fuselage block with no mass
