In February 1944, Germany redesigned the hull of the Panther D and Panther A, improving on some of the shortcomings based on operational experience. The 45.5-ton Panther G was built by MAN, Daimler-Benz and MNH and went into production in February 1944, with 3,126 completed by April 1945.
