P-47D Jug
Nicknamed the "Seven-ton milk-bottle" or just shortened to "Jug", the P-47 was one of the heaviest fighters of the war. Designed around a turbosupercharger, they served as a high altitude hit-and-run hunters thanks to its terrifying diving speed. It's heavy bomb capacity and toughness also gave it great success in the ground-attack role.

@Weaverfish Many Thanks.
@group935 ya man, go nuts.
Dear Weaverfish, Could i use your AN-M65?
Among all your great planes, this one is the icing on the cake. You have a new follower
I love this and your bf109 they are perfect for each other could u please give away the cockpit :)@Weaverfish
Hmm...is it a coincidence that I created a plane called the T-39 JugJugJug that looks maybe like a P-47?
i like what you did with the cockpit.
@JackTheBestBoss True that
Also imagine what the Germans would of made If the war lasted a couple more years@EpicPigster1
I agree, also people underestimate the power of corsairs and F4us, etc. there were so good@EpicPigster1
@JackTheBestBoss Yeah it did. Think of it this way. A P-47 was a massive battle axe. It scares the absolute living ** out of people, and is extremely deadly.
However, think of a Mustang like a rapier, or a small sword. Also deadly, but much more refined, accurate, and specialized.
Sure was, the Germans were terrified by it, I've read quite a handful of German war stories, and it scares the $&!$@& out of them, it absolutely rekted everything@EpicPigster1
@JackTheBestBoss IKR! It was so satisfying typing it up, it made me appreciate the Jug more.
I agree, and I love ranting about ww2 planes, it's great@EpicPigster1
@JackTheBestBoss The Mustangs might have been great, but the P-47 was just better. Shame the USAAF didn't need interceptors.
@JackTheBestBoss Actually the Jug was faster. The XP-47J did 495 mph and the XP-47H did a whopping 505mph. A mustang could only dream of going that fast. Also, a mustang could not exceed 550mph in a dive or else the wings would rip. In a dive, the Jug could do excess of 670mph. Some pilots even reported going supersonic in the Jug.
Sorry about my little rant, I just don't like when people think the Mustang was better than the Jug. The Thunderbolt's N model could out roll any Mustang, and although the Mustang had a slightly smaller turning circle, it really isn't an advantage since it could be out turned by 190's anyways, so both planes were boom and zoomers. The only real combat advantage of the Mustang was it's fuel economy and range.
I'll make sure to check it out, Although the the higher class p-51's were amazing at doing there job too, they had similiar capabilities, but A little faster and manuerable,but i do love the p-47 too@EpicPigster1
@JackTheBestBoss Thanks bro, I really love the Jug. I believe it was the best fighter of WW2, it was super capable of dogfighting and ground pounding. It could also bomber escort, and was incredibly fast. I'm making another right now!
You make a ton of them@EpicPigster1
You seem to specialize in them, there cockpits are amazing@EpicPigster1
@JackTheBestBoss lol it's ok, i am the supreme overlord of P-47's (XD not really)
Oh yeah, I forgot, stupid, I should of known, I'm a ww2 planes master of knowledge @EpicPigster1
@JackTheBestBoss lol a p47 is supposed to be like that, with a full load it took forever to get to altitude.
