A new design from the Central Hydrofoil Design Bureau armed with 4 Anti ship missiles to destroy any capitalist pigs that may get in your way.
Attempt at an Ekranoplan using the new rotors' Transitional Lift and Ground Effect scalars. Based off the Lun Class Ekranoplan and A-90 Orlyonok (to a lesser extent). The craft will stay in the ground effect (~15ft), although with enough pitch at lower speeds, or with trim on above 270mph will escape. I have tried and failed to stop it from bobbing, the best remedy is to dampen it to reduce the amplitude. Most of this was done on iOS so expect nothing too fancy.
Controls
- AG1: roll leveling gyro, leaves pitch unaffected
- AG2: Cruise Control, acts as autopilot while still allowing control
Flying Notes
- Autopilot is not recommended, as it will lower the beaching gear unless engaged above approx. 75ft
- Steering on water is achieved with Yaw up to 20mph
- Steering in flight is achieved by rolling the craft until one of the pontoons touches the water - the turning circle is very large
- AG1 & AG2 are used for craft stabilisation for cruising and can be used for taxiing
- for long stretches of straight line cruising without course adjustments, the throttle can be reduced to 70%
- Full throttle on a straight run gives a top speed of 350mph, for which trim must be set to 1/2 up
- Set Trim slider to Full down (pitch up) unless above 270mph
- Have fun trying to land, it floats in the air at 30mph
- To stop, hold Brake until almost stationary

ITS fly
This is probably the most accurate ekranoplan yet in SP.
I managed to get it to fly by hitting an island
Impressive
Cool!
HEY, crazy thing I have aspergers too!! That’s crazy, because I don’t see or know anybody with aspergers
Like me check out my bio!
@Avro683Lancaster if you don't mind me asking but are you transgender?
this is a great creation @Avro683Lancaster
I was wondering if someone was going to try this. Nice.
The FRES would like to purchase 5 of these
@Avro683Lancaster fitting meme my friend.
So Its Both
@TheAtomicFox its Orlyonok not Caspian sea monster
@Irobert55 @Phantom1 “is it a ship or a plane?” “Well yes, but actually no”
Your Ekranoplan looks quite good, especially with the hull, and performs well. In terms of the flight characteristics, I know why my ekranoplan bobs, but I have no clue on how to reduce/remove it while still flying as intended.@Mickk
K
I’m on iOS so 🤷♂️ @Avro683Lancaster
@InternationalAircraftCompany its in the xml settings, under a section called
RotorPerfScalars
How do you change the transitional lift and ground effect scales? I don’t see them in the options menu for heli rotors.
nice Caspian Sea Monster lol
Экипаж - одна семья!
@Irobert55
Ok U Didnt Get The Its Metal Thing
@Phantom1 nope the way it works make it so that it counts a a hovercraft type vessel. but better.
Lol
@Irobert55 Its A Boat Its A Plane In The End Its Just Metal So Technically Its The Same
