Gearbox Vehicle
1,156 ManBoe
5.8 years ago
It started out in life as a little experiment with four gear pieces, two clutches, the wheels from the 4-6-6-4 Fat Man and some VTOL nozzles on pistons. Now, it has evolved in to this: a 16MPH (formerly 21 before the addition of a lower gear) mechanical MONSTER.
VTOL up for forwards, down for backwards. Ideal thrust is 25%. Go over it at own risk. For first gear, move the Trim slider all the way. For second, all the way down.
As there is only a small ratio defference between the two, the speed difference is only about 1MPH. And yes, I’ll be making a proper car with this. Uses a synchromesh-like system to change gear.
If interest is shown I will upload WIP versions.
