Horten X Volksjäger
Horten Ho X Volksjäger
Historical Background
Due to the worsening condition of the war for Germany, the German Air Ministry (RLM) put out a specification for a fighter that would use as little raw resources as possible, be easily mass produced, and have excellent performance. Although not among the many companies chosen to develop this new Volksjäger, the Horten brothers submitted their own design that followed a similar design philosophy as their Ho 229. The Ho X (ten) was to be built of steel pipes sheathed in plywood for the centre section, while the outer wing panels were entirely wooden. The wing had two sweepback angles, starting with 60 degrees at the centre section but then being reduced to 43 degrees on the outer wings. Control was to be maintained through elevons on the wing tips where the drag surfaces that provided yaw were located as well. An advantage of this design would have been its ability to accept a variety of powerplants, be it the planned BMW 003E turbojet or the He S 011. A single 30mm cannon was to be fitted in the nose with two 15mm MG's mounted in the wing roots. A scale protoype was built to determine CG location, and a full size glider was under construction by the end of the war in 1945

Notes
She's a little squirrel-y when you give full and sudden up elevator. Slow to Roll in a hard turn.
This basically a redo of my old Ho X that was complete garbage. This one is far more accurate, being made using some original plans from 1945 (Shown below)
