"Unmanned Aerial Nuke" for the Nuclear Challenge.
[FICTION] Based on 15kt 'Little Boy' from WWII but built sometime after the first model was dropped, paired with captured V2 remote piloting technology and advancements in jet engine design, allows for the delivery of nuclear ordinance without putting a single pilot in harms way!
Being post-WWII era technology, this is not a dog fighter, nor does it have any offensive OR defensive armaments even if you did encounter interceptors.
Equipped with discarding wheel carriage to save weight after takeoff, albeit this means you are committed to your mission, or to scuttle in the ocean safely.
Also includes stabilization gyro for the bare-minimum in flight assistance, yet be warned it is still a very unstable craft; however, it is still plenty able to be flown and delivered on-target. In the chance of a water-target and you're unable to place it directly on the mark, this U.A.N. comes outfitted with an override detonation mechanism: simply engage "Air-to-Ground" mode to arm and click the mouse to detonate.
Technical Mumbo-Jumbo: Model includes a few zero-scaled parts (well, just about) and its fair share of zero-mass and zero-drag parts to try and maintain drag profile and/or ease of flying. Internal components are loosely modeled after how "Little Boy" functioned, with a gun style fission system that fired a U-235 ring at a U-235 cylinder. NOTE: The internal model is non-functional and for representation only.
A flattened cannon in the bomb's nose (behind the beacon light) is utilized for the user-triggering system, pointed at the bomb and outfitted with a single explosive round (comically, this is kinda how it really worked!).
Actions Groups:
AG1=Jettison Gear
AG2=Gyro Pitch assist
AG3=Gyro Roll assist
AG4=Gyro Yaw assist
AG8=Gyro Stabilization toggle (default enabled).
Lift is generated approximated 225mph.
Takeoff Procedure:
Toggle AG2, Trim to Max, Throttle 100%; after successfull liftoff (it does this by itself) proceed to jettison wheels (AG1), Trim back to Neutral.
At >500mph, if you wish you may disable Gyro Stabilization (AG8), or just Pitch assist (AG2).
If you opt to leave Gyro Stab enabled, then activating Roll assist is advised for improved turning (Yaw is DISCOURAGED); Roll is range-limited to prevent a complete Roll maneuver while Gyro Stab is active.
