XF-49 VTL Piper Concept
Skill Level: Hard
Built along side the GyrFalken/Kestrel project, the Piper was intended specialize in dogfighting and high speed manuevers. Due to it's lack of speek and limited payload, I just now decided to release it. The idea behind this plane was ideal balance for air to air combat. The missle bays deploy out the side so weight distribution is always centered. The plane is really flat, and long making for a very stable platform. coupled with a trapazoidal wing configuration, the final project was a VTOL aircraft that could chase down opponents in a dogfight. The pilot actively switches from 2 to 4 engine propulsion while in flight so the pilot can maximize fuel effiency and increase turning so flying it in a fight can be a chore. Another setback was it's tiny engines, but at the time. 4 engines to equal the output of one really powerful on made sense. Personally, it is one of my prefered planes to fly because of how easy, and small it is. It's excellent for threading the support beams on bridges, canyon crawling and flying through pyramids. Tips and Flight Instructions
Unlike my previous designs, this plane uses multiple small engines. As you activate group 2 and ascend, and activate Group 4 for stabiliy, at altitude you activate group 1 which is the main flight engine. With this plane full power is all four engines, so you will need to push VTOL setting up which will take the plane out of VTOL mode. With VTOL landing mode, you want to set the VTOL settings back to neutral and pull back, Disable Group 1 and reengage Group 4 which is the Gyros, at this point you can land it like any other VTOL aircraft
