Elite Class Armored Cruiser (Final Edit)
Elite Class is a group of 6 Armored Cruisers built by the Sovereign Navy in 1800. They were the first ever Armored Cruisers to be launched in the world and became the main foundation of the new steel age naval doctrine of Great Country.
History
The Sovereign Admirality built a handful of Armored Ships from the past decades experimenting them with an intent to produced the most capable warship that can chase and outgun older warships than them. They were experimenting handful of their old sail ships, applying armor to them, re-arming them and even building newer Hulls to do both. They also experimented of using Coal Powered Propulsion rather than sailing or steam powered ships. The Admirality requested the final batch of designs that can be used and will be the first ever Armored Cruiser in the world. After 12 years of study, the Admirality approved of building the first ever Armored Cruiser, Elite, with the designated design "AC-01". Elite was launched in mid 1799 and was fitted out between August and November the same year. She went training and trials in the Early January of 1800 and was officially commisioned in mid January 1800, giving her the title of "The first ever Armored Cruiser".
Service History
The first ship, Elite, served for the Ocean Expedition Fleet upon commissioning. Her main mission is to escort the returning Old ships from their main mission of exploring the Outside World, this includes the Caribbean, The Pacific and the Atlantic Theatres. She served in the fleet for 3 years doing the mission over and over, her notable fight was in the Battle off Falkland Islands between the Royal Navy. There she and 3 3rd rate ships was escorting the 7 Galleons when they encountered the Royal Navy which numbered 10-12 ships in size. The wind was slow that time and mostly the Ships were sailing as slow as 8-10 knots only. Captain Gregory Cornell, Commanding officer of Elite, ordered the 3 3rd rates to form a defensive line while Elite will mostly maneuver to target the British Forces. Elite was the only ship on the squadron to be able to maneuver at full speed without any problems, Elite closed to its range opened fire to the British Forces. The British have never seen such a ship like the Elite, they mistook her as a Grey colored Wooden Ship powered with Steam Propulsion. The British Tried to close range to deal damage to Elite but failed, due to this Elite continued to bombard the British Ships. One British ship was able to get a close look and opened fired to Elite, but was unscratched. After 35 minutes of bombarding, the British Forces decided to retreat with a loss of 7 ships while the Sovereign was unscratched. Elite was the most memorable ship among the Class, she was also the only Armored Cruiser to engage the Outside World Navy, she held this title until it was broken by the outbreak of United-Southern War in 2105. The rest of the Ships served for the Home Fleet and didn't see any actions until the First War of Coalitions.
