Hello!

And welcome to the Mega Dogfight Tournament!

In this challenge, you, and hopefully many others, are tasked with creating an aircraft that can successfully destroy other planes! Please consider joining, the more people, the more fun!

There are a few rules though, all listed below.

Rules For Build:

  1. No auto aim, we need to make things fair.

  2. I have a good computer, but it cant run a smooth 60 FPS with 10k parts, so lets have the part limit at 2,000 parts.

  3. Size limits, must be under 200 ft long, 150 ft wide, and 50 ft tall.

  4. Weapon choices are: Wing guns, miniguns, AA missiles, and at MOST 50mm cannons

  5. Plane must be AI controllable, so that means no super speed.

  6. Wings, weapons, and the fuselage MUST have regular HP settings, accessories, landing gears, cockpits are not included with this rule.

Seems easy right? Well, that's because you ARE right! All you need to do is make something that is not insanely powerful, and you're in!

Now, you may be wondering, how will the tournament be done? Well, I'm not only going to be livestreaming it on my YouTube channel (Link in my profile), but I will be using a fun little tournament bracket generator called Challonge.com. This website allows me to create a tournament that can be live, and people can watch!

Again though, there are some rules, you should definitely read these:

Rules For Tournament:

  1. It will be a 2 stage tournament, not important for how you're planning to win.

  2. The first stage will be double elimination, where you will have 2 "lives", lose 2 times, lose your "lives".

  3. The final stage will be single elimination, same as first stage, except only 1 life.

  4. When I will start streaming is April 17th at 1:00 CST

  5. You and your opponents planes will fight 1 vs 1 in the dogfight game, since I have to fill out the scores, I will be livestreaming the event on my Twitch channel, so if you don't believe my scoring, you can watch it for proof, I will score honestly and wont pick favorites, both planes will be controlled by AI and will have 3 minutes to kill one another, a kill means that the AI can no longer control the plane, the plane touches ground or water, or the plane is utterly destroyed.

  6. Battles will be best 2/3, and stalemates will not count (ex of stalemate: Planes infinitely circle around, if this occurs, I will wait for about 30 sec, then restart the battle if nothing changes).

Please consider joining, I really want this to work as I have spent a long time making this, its completely free, and the rewards are quite good!

Rewards:

1st Place: 25 upvotes, spotlight (If possible), and bragging rights.
2nd Place: 15 upvotes, spotlight (If possible)
3rd Place: 10 upvotes
4th-15th Place: 5 upvotes
16th-last Place: 1 upvote

Decent rewards, a fun tournament, and a hopefully interesting idea. Want to join? Here are some important links you might want:

Some quick notes:

If you don't want to be there to see the tournament live, go ahead, I will be posting a forum with the results if you miss it, and it will be uploaded to my Youtube Channel.

This is something I wanted to make celebrating 200 subscribers, unlike my 50 subscriber special, its not as self inflating, so I hope this makes people more interested.

If you have any questions, the comments are a perfect place for you.

Please consider joining, every player makes it more fun, and more exciting, and if you are so opposed to joining, then at least upvote to support this.

@Souka as long as its semi realistic, like no jet engines going the speed of light or wing guns with 400,000 rpm

@AuroraPolaris you can make an account if you want, but I can enter your name if you dont, if you look on challonge, over half I entered in.
Making an account will just make it so you know when you and your opponent are fighting, when the tournament has started, etc, nothing important for winning.

Hey @SPMTB, got a question regarding entering. Is posting the plane we created enough to be entered or do we have to make a Challonge account and register to enter? I'd rather not have another website that I have to remember the login info for

Alright! I unpinned all of my comments to make it a little less crowded, and the important stuff will be compiled here.

Due date for aircraft is April 16th, at 9:00 PM CST!

Due date to enter into the tournament is April 16th, before 9:00 PM CST!

The event will be streamed on Twitch, and done live on Challonge!

Only 1 plane can be entered into the tournament per player!

These are just the base rules, and any other rules can be asked.
For any existing players, no rules have changed, I just want to clean the comments up a bit.
