PAC P1C Firebird -Working Scooper!

Response to the Forrest Fire Fighting Challenge

The P1C Firebird is a modified P1C designed as a close support tactical water bomber. Nicknamed, "Poor Man's Fireboss", it may not be as fast as a Firebass Air Tractor or have the capacity, but it will get the job done at a low cost. The whole P1C is basically a P1C with the PAC Float kits, with the addition of the non-factory Firebird Water Scooper. The Firebird Water Scooper is a real, working water scooper that can refill upon touching down at a lake. It can give 3 long bursts before it needs a refill. This makes the P1C Firebird able to stay on station for long periods. The P1C Firebird is perfect for non-government aerial firefighter groups or park rangers. The Firebird Water Scooper is also pretty easy to uninstall from the fuselage.

AG-1 = Nav, Beacon, Strobe Lights
AG-2 = Landing Lights
AG-3 = Unknown/Unassigned
AG-4 = Water Rudders + VTOL slider
AG-5 = Activate Firebird Water Scooper + Trigger pull

VTOL = Prop Pitch
Trim = Elevator Trim

Enjoy and Happy Flying!

NOTE: The Firebird Water Scooper will give you about 3-5 seconds of dumping water before a refill. And by refill, I mean after that burst you have to wait 15 seconds before dumping water again. I gave a long wait between bursts so it encourages you to actually land the plane (or touch N' Go) on a body of water so it seems like the scooper is actually filling up.

DISCLAIMER: This plane suffers the risk of going into an unrecoverable, inverted flat spin if you push the plane over/down too much. Please do not push over the plane too hard.

    Go ahead. You don't have to credit me, but I prefer a little credit for modding the gun so it looks like it's spraying water. I honestly don't care if you credit me or not. It's Jundroo's gun, not mine.

    Can I use that gun you used for the water?

    I think I kinda get what your trying to say, but thanks for the advice. I guess the flat spin thing will plague some of the more nose-heavy P1 models. Also check out my new crop duster I made using the same spray technique as the Firebird!

    Oh yeah what you do to stop the flipping is you make the vertical stabilisers take up less than 1/2 of the wing. @JohnnyBoythePilot

    Yes ALL airplanes of mine that were created before 2010 will have manual prop pitch to make things realistic. If it's too hard for you to maintain manual control you can edit the prop yourself to set to auto.

    Yea I noticed that problem too. The P1D and the P1C with the float kits are the only aircraft of mine that suffer from an inverted flat spin that isn't really recoverable. Not 100% but maybe adding some dead weight in the cargo hold/tank (block between wing sets and directly in front of the cockpit) could keep it from doing that? The P1D and P1C, w/ float kits have one thing in common: Both are kinda nose heavy because of the floats on the P1C and because of the V8 engine/long nose on the P1D. There isn't much help for the spin issue. Or you could add a airframe parachute that you can deploy in the event of a spin. Wonderful aircraft but the spin is it's main flaw.

    No joke, I felt compelled to download this right freaking now. Nicely done! This is a really cool plane. Took me a sec to realize prop pitch was manual. Very cool.
