M.Corp A-6 Cobra (1000 followers special)
No beta parts were used. You should be able to play even without 1.8.1 Beta
M.Corp A-6 Cobra is a single seat, single engine attack aircraft with variable wing geometry. It is employed in large numbers by M.Corp Air Force for close air support, anti-tank, anti-infrastructure, anti-ship, and other strike missions.
Design and development:
In a need for a capable strike aircraft, M.Corp Air Force had issued a requirement for an all weather attacker with payload of 4000kg, and combat radius of at least 600km. Requirement also stated a need for short takeoff and landing capability, ability to use unpaved runways, and ability to carry state of the art armament. Thus, A-6 was designed.
A-6 has a high mounted variable geometry wing with no ailerons, flaps covering the entire trailing edge. Wing has three sweep settings, 16°,36°, and 56°. A non-rotating pylon can be attached to the wing, but it can be used only for fuel tank and limit the sweep to 16°. Pitch, roll, and trim are all connected to the all-moving tail, with large rudder providing yaw control.
Powerplant of the A-6 is a single afterburning turbofan. It allows the plane to reach speeds of up to 1300km/h at sea level and up to 1900km/h at 8000m altitude.
Armament is carried on pylons under the wing gloves and fuselage. There is a total of seven hardpoints excluding fuel tank connections on wings. Armament carried can include guided and unguided bombs of up to 1000kg, various laser, gps, or TV guided missiles, IR guided air-to-air missiles, unguided or laser guided rockets in pods, gun pods, and various electronic pods. Fixed armament consists of a 23mm rotary gun firing 6000 to 8000 rounds per minute, complete with 550 rounds of ammunition.
Electronic warfare systems are integrated into the airframe, and so are weapon guidance and target designation systems. They are modular and can be upgraded as better ones become available.
Notes:
- Aircraft has pretty realistic performance;
- Weapons are ripoffs of real ones;
- The plane is inspired by MiG-27;
- Thanks to BogdanX and Dimkal for tips and feedback;
- Big thanks to Othawne for making the main landing gear.
Instructions:
- Ag1: arm missiles;
- Ag2: afterburner;
- Ag3: 36° sweep;
- Ag4: 56° sweep;
- Ag5: jettison droptank;
- Ag6: drogue chute;
- Ag7: jettison missiles;
- Ag8: lights on/off.
- Brake: air brake and wheel brakes;
VTOL down: flaps.
Takeoff: Set flaps halfway down, trim 3/4 down. Use yaw to keep the plane straight as it pulls a tiny bit to the right on runway. Retract gear as soon as you are up, slowly retract flaps, adjust trim as necessary.
Armament: Weapons are pretty straightforward. Point, wait for the beep, shoot. Big missiles are activated by Ag1. They are powerful enough to destroy USS Tiny or destroyer in one hit, or USS Beast and Maywar conwoy in two hits. Small missiles, overpowered as they may seem, have speed and range of the actual Python 5 missile. Gun is a ripoff of Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-6-23 autocannon that was mounted on some MiG-27s. I thought that giving it specs of the Gryazev-Shipunov GSh-6-30 (usual gun on MiG-27) would be an overkill, and I don't have the means to simulate its effect (shaking the plane apart).
Enjoy.

@EternalDarkness lol. She's still a beautiful aircraft from the simpleplanes golden era😅
@Christiant2 with modern tricks like labels and fuselage cutting, I think it could be lowered to around 600 parts, but I don't think I'll be doing that with this old bird.
@EternalDarkness It is! Its just the parts! 😭 Can you keep the detail but lower the parts?
@Christiant2 thanks. I'm glad it's holding up to the test of time.
@EternalDarkness This thing beautiful!
@Gbhole yes.
is this based off of the mig 23?
I@WhiteKyuremGaming it Is mobile friendly on some devices if you want to download sign in or create an account it test it it works fine for me
Did your guys use a New physic engine on 1.8 ? My ship runs well on 1.7 but it will sink in The New version
Coolest landing gear I’ve ever seen
Can you make a mobile friendly version I really would like to download this plane it looks like it will be useful
@A3 thanks buddy :)
@EternalDarkness I've been away from SP for 2 years and when I come back to see your creations they always look good :)
@LordSatan I'm glad you like it. Thanks.
Love it, especially those pods on the bottom.
@EternalDarkness I'm going to guess that when 1.8 is fully released the new helicopter parts will be fully operational and not so (all over the place buggy) lol (no death star reference there)
@JediWolf yup, the old trick.
@EternalDarkness I see congrats! I think we both learned something from this beta. The key to success is to keep trying!
@Ariathe thanks.
@JediWolf I've managed to make a working helicopter. It's basically trial and error until performance are just right.
Looks nice! I love the color scheme!
@EternalDarkness I found a temporary solution for the choppers! Just build a Chinook style helicopter but add duel tail rotors (why duel?) Well the rotors will fight against each other and cause a swaying motion but they won't cause a spin out or a tilt to one side and the Chinook style helicopter because of its duel main rotors won't cause it to go all over the world!
It's a Bird! It's a Plane! Oh, it is a plane.
cool
@TheChosenOne site says it does, but there are no beta parts on it. If you can download it, you can use it (I'm not sure if you can download it).
