Supermarine FireCracker Mk2*
The Spitfire's younger brother!
Author's note: This is my best WW2 propeler driven aircraft. Took 1 hour to make it how it is now, that doesnt sound like much, but i rarely spend more than 30 minutes on a build.
Introduction: The Supermarine FireCracker Mk2* is a WW2 era Fighter/Bomber armed with six 50cal machineguns on the wings, two 40mm autocannons and 2 pylons that can carry anything from bombs, to rocket pods and more cannons.
Development: Developed by Supermarine in the middle of WW2 originally as a massive upgrade to older versions of the Spitfire, solving their engine flaw when doing Negative-G manouvres, while also adding more ammo and armor, but that plan was switched to build a completely new aircraft. The FireCracker Mk1 was heavier and less manouverable than the Spitfire, but it had a more powerful and relaiable V16 engine. It was liked by its pilots, but it lacked the weaponry for a Fighter/Bomber, so in 1945, 2 new variants were made, the Mk2 and Mk2* . The Mk2 only had slight mobility upgrades and additions of the pylons, while the Mk2* had its autocannons added, alongside faster firerate machineguns and the same mobility upgrades from the Mk2. It served until the end of the war, in 1949. In some nations, it served until the early 1960s.
Controls: Standard plane controls.
VTOL for flaps.
AG1 to drop all bombs.
P.s: Sadly, the plane's file name is Supermarine Firecracker Mk2 instead of Mk2*.
