Auto Credit Based on WinsWings's WW2 Jets Challenge 8/23 [CLOSED]

The P-80 was developed by Lockheed in 1943 and was the first operational jet fighter for the US air force in world war II. In fact, it was delivered just 143 days after design and prodiction. Later used in the Korean War, (now designated the F-80) proved to be a formidable opponent. Being replaced by the F-86 after the MiG-15 was introduced, it saw a much shorter life than todays fighters. The T-33, a trainer based on the P/F-80 served for much longer, going out of service in the 1980s while the NT-33 served until 1997. This livery is based on the P-80 on display in the Air Force museum in Dayton, Ohio.
