(Fictional) Going into mid 1943, with the battle in the Pacific raging on, the developers behind the Berzerker continued to spot flaws with the plane, month after month. Despite the excellent climb rate of the plane, pilots still felt that it could be faster and more maneuverable, if it didn't weigh 13,000 pounds with full tanks. New wings were designed; slightly wider than the A and B variants of the N-33, and much more narrow, allowing the wings to be more aerodynamic and thus increase the aircraft's cruising and diving speed. Although these upgrades didn't strongly improve the turn time of the aircraft, many naval pilots grew very fond of the C variant of the Berzerker, and some preferred them over the Corsairs.

This wing design is better for sure! I don't know much about war plane wing design apart from rounded edges but it looks good!
