A-III 'Strike Bandit'
A-III 'Strike Bandit'
Back with another bomber! This time it's subsonic, really slow, no nukes, and old. Though all things considered the Hustler is kinda old too. This was a fun build, a bit simpler than a lot of my other projects. I think it's a lotta fun!
Fictional History
The A-III 'Strike Bandit' is a World War I era biplane bomber designed to strike at far-away targets. Two 260-horsepower engines move this beast at speeds up to 103 mph. Capable of flying from Snowstone to Bandit and back, it presents a great threat to the forces stationed there. Previous raids on Bandit Airport have proved its adaptability in combat rolls, whether dropping bombs or supplies, this plane can do it.
Controls
AG1- Drop supply crate
AG2- Stabilised auto-pilot; activate AA machine gun
Normal aircraft controls, this time yaw is included.
"Roll to enable glider mode"- Tsampoy. Rolling 80+ degrees strangely breaks the propellers, unintentionally turning this plane into a glider.
Notes
We've added a steel bullet-resistant plate on the leading edge of the tail to prevent you from shooting it off. However, it isn't a guaranteed failsafe.
Activate group 2 to use the machine gun. This will lock all aircraft control surfaces. Switch to camera two and use mouse as joystick to aim. The gun will shut off every 100 rounds to simulate a 7-second reload period.
Yaw is controlled by two means. One is the conventional yaw surface on the tail, the other is differential thrust. The differential thrust works well for slow turns while stabilized autopilot is on, as well as getting a better angle on the biplane fighters chasing you.
Painted in light gray winter camo for minimal visibility, beneficial for stormy, snowy, or foggy attack missions. Simple WWI Allies red and white stripes added for identification and nice looks.
Please drop the supply package at least 200 feet above the ground, we'd hate for it to break apart on impact.
Minimum takeoff speed is 74 mph, however, it is recommended to wait until the aircraft is moving at 80 mph to pull up.
For landing, tap the breaks gently while the plane is still resting on the front wheels. Holding it will cause it to tip onto its nose. Pulling back on pitch when speed is less than 60 mph is recommended to avoid flip-overs.

Maneuvering to land at Wright Airport after flying from Snowstone and bombing Bandit. Luckily we've got TrollShield because when I dropped the bombs, Fishminer joined MP at Bandit and one fell right on top of them. Whoops.

You may have noticed I've had quite a few more builds posted than usual the past few weeks. It's because most of the challenges I'm building for happen to end right at the end of the year, and because of procrastination habits, I'm pushing out the finished products rather quickly without much time to spread them out. So, enjoy the builds and the bomber!

@rexzion Lol, it's my go-to biplane because the AI can fly it and it doesn't completely shred everything it shoots.
can I get an F for my biplane that got shot down :(
Add one last tag I almost forgot about, @KangaKangaTheRedNosedRoo
