Paraplane Contract/challenge! (closed)
Ok, right off the bat, lets make this clear
This is not a normal challenge!
So, the goal of this contract is to make a paraplane, an aircraft that uses a non-rigid, self supporting parachute to fly. It's basically a large paramotor. If your still confused, you'll be building one of these things, but better
To enter, you must comment that you are interested in making a paraplane, then after a couple days me and my business partner asteroidbook345 will judge the 3 best builders from the applicants who will then be contracted to build a paraplane to our specifications which are set out below. Upon successful completion of the contract, you will be awarded 20 upvotes. You have until the end of the year to complete the contract
- the paraplane must use a non-rigid airfoild that can at most be attached to the main body by a single pole connected to the middle of the chute, along with any other non-rigid connectors of your choosing (we recommend winches for this)
- the paraplane must be controlled in a certain manner:
-pitch must be accomplished by engine power, changing the angle of attack, trims, or a combination of 2 or 3.
-roll must be done via trims.
-yaw must be done with brakes if your yaw is on the chute, we will allow you to place a rudder on the main body.
-trims: they can be either control surfaces on wings or custom surfaces powered by winches
-angle of attack changes: they can be done by a rotor connected to your single main mast/pole or by winches
-brakes: these are airbrakes within the chute.

@PolyIsGone Congratulations, you have won one of the contracts. You have until December 31st to complete the contract. Use this time to research how paramotors work and how they can be translated into SP and to build a paraplane of high quality. If you have any questions please contact me or Asteroidbook, this includes if you need some help with the build.

Guys remember, this ISN'T a standard challenge.
@ACEPILOT109 You just say your interested and then hope you get selected.
Paraplane is done, check the forums if you want to see what it looks like!
@FishMiner Will do. Paraplane is almost done btw, just needs rear suspension
@BagelPlane yes
Quick question does the paraplane need to be a successor of this?
@FishMiner Bummer, I missed out on building one, I am just now building on of my own... :-(
@FishMiner
Ok sounds good!
@ACEPILOT109 well, it's a large paramotor, so it has to control like a paramotor. As for size, so long as it's bigger than a trike with a lawn chair then you should be fine. Take a look at the build in the first link of the post of you're still confused.
@FishMiner
oh no lol
Are there any specifications? I think i know what I'm gonna make but is there like a requirement for size/propose or something?
@BagelPlane ok here me out: paraplane gunship. If you build them right, they naturally go in circles pretty well.
@FishMiner A-OK! Though I just hit a setback, my Counter-Terrorist Challenge entry was literally reverted back 210 parts when Steam unexpectedly updated SP.
kudos for the amazing table
This looks cool! Count me in (depending if I have time to make something)
Yes! That is almost the kind of challenge that I wanted to do!
I am VERY interested!
I might enter
@NormalPioneer I think so, just don't use control surfaces on them
l'm very interested. Count me in if you can
I might have a little go, so sure, I guess I’m interested :)
@FishMiner I'm interested
@NormalPioneer nah
@NormalPioneer I'm not sure you got the message of the post.
We will select 3 people who will be contracted to build a paraplane and those 3 will be given until the end of the year to create the best build they can.
