9M120 Ataka (Russian:? ? ? ? ? ; Attack) is an anti-tank missile (ATGM) originating from the Soviet Union. It is reported that the name of NATO 9M120 missile is AT-9 Spiral -2. It is the next generation main product of 9K114 Shturm(AT-6 spiral) series. The missile has the function of radio command and guidance, and also carries the light beam of SACLOS. The main variant of this missile is designed to defeat tanks with composite armor and explosive reaction armor. 9M120 Ataka system is often confused with 9K121 Vikhr system, although it is a different weapon system developed by different companies. The former is designed by KBM Machinery Manufacturing Design Bureau and manufactured by Degtyarev Factory. According to Stockholm International Peace Research Institute, Russia has exported Ataka ATGM to Iran, Kazakhstan and Slovenia.
