History:
The Aerospace Taiwan Company (ATC) in the 80/90s developed a reconnaissance interceptor based on the F-104G.
On the plane installed RWR AN/ALR-56M(T), pulse-Doppler radar AN/APG-63, APS (KOEP) Type 63C-2 and EW system AN/ALQ-165(TM). The interceptor is also equipped with a countermeasures ejection system AN/ALE-72Q with ammo 270 per block.
Modification 7C was gone into production in 1995. It had significant changes in the cockpit, gained the ability to hang an external fuel tank, as well as a number of changes in the airframe. The radar model was rechanged to AN/APG-66M.
Modification 7E and appeared in 1997. It changed the design of the airframe and landing gear. The aircraft received a new RWR AN/ALR-67M(L), radar AN/APG-74J and APS (KOEP) Type 63D-5. The volume of fuel tanks has been increased. The interior of the cockpit has been largely redesigned. The model was mass-produced from 1998 to December 2001, a total of 125 aircraft of this version were built. The last 80 aircrafts were 7E-4 modifications; from 7E they differed in minor changes in the cockpit and airframe.
In 1990, Switzerland purchased 35 aircraft to replace the Mirage IIIS. In 2005, the Swiss Air Force brought the Block.10 modification interceptors purchased earlier to the Block.20 standard.
Finland purchased 10 aircraft of the 7E-4 modification in 2000.
In addition to Finland and Switzerland, a total of 90 boards of various modifications were purchased by South Africa, Japan and Norway.
Between 1987 and 2001, a total of 312 aircraft were built.
(Of course, the whole story is completely made up.)
