USER MANUAL

[ ! ] Optimized for HIGH physics. It may not function correctly if other physics settings are used.

OPERATION

AG1 OFF - Walker Mode
Throttle - Walk
Yaw - Turn

AG1 ON - Submersible Mode
Throttle - Forward Thrust
Brake - Reverse Thrust
Yaw - Steering
Trim - Body Pitch

Common Controls
Roll - XGTP Steering
AG7 - Additional Lights

Engine Start
Select the "Engine" weapon and hold the FireWeapons button for a few seconds, such that a trail is visible from all four engines.

Using XGTP
- XGTP (Advanced Guided Torpedo) is a powerful anti-ship weapon.
- Launch the left or right torpedo with "XGTP L" or "XGTP R" respectively. Leave some distance to the target to avoid destroying your own machine. Do not launch when excessive body pitch is applied.
- After the torpedo is launched, it can be steered with Roll.
- Use the custom camera 1 (left torpedo) or 2 (right torpedo).
- Detonate the torpedo near the target with "XGTP L FUSE" or "XGTP R FUSE".
- If the torpedo is allowed to hit the target directly, insignificant damage will be inflicted.
- The idea of using winches and cannons comes from here, but the rest is original and different.

NOTES

Known Issues
- The machine may drift sideways when the engines are first activated, or when throttled down later.
- As the weapons are based on rockets, they may be launched into the air.

Dev Notes
Second water mecha. It's been 1.3 years, water/buoyancy physics are still a pain. I've tried to showcase interactions between smooth and sharp edges here, as well as some other tricks. Like sea creatures, it's curvy and goes in the uncanny valley. I like it, hope you like it too.

Two events dealt a heavy blow to naval defence in the mid-21st Century: sanctions in military automation and fire-and-forget weaponry, and a restriction in the use of long-range sonar. These shifted the balance of naval power towards submarines, which now could not be detected before they attacked. Militaries now had to rely on many smaller sonars instead of fewer larger ones, utilizing aircraft or small ships for this role. Additionally, the further-increased costs associated with fire-and-forget guided torpedoes meant that smaller militaries could not depend on them for anti-submarine warfare.

Drawing from its prior developments in submersible technology, HAMEKA designed a new fast attack craft for the changing naval scene, and fulfilling the original role of its predecessor. The AM-16 was a success in terms of its performance, setting numerous naval records, and being very effective in both setting up sonar nets and destroying submerged targets. However, its cost meant that running AM-16 defense groups was not possible for most potential customers that needed manned solutions for ASW.

AM-16s can perform the roles of small attack craft, patrolling waters around a defence target and intercepting enemy ships. When not in use, they are typically carried by larger ships.

Development of the AM-16 involved many advancements in Articulating Frame technology, and led to a leap in HAMEKA's machine development expertise.

ARMAMENT

Advanced Setup - A top-tier loadout for combat with both large and small vessels.

[Primary Armament] 2x 324mm Advanced Guided Torpedo (XGTP)
High-performance, long-range, wire-guided torpedo. This late torpedo is very fast and manouverable, yet it packs enough explosive power to sink most vessels.

[Defensive Armament] 14x 50.8mm Lightweight Torpedo (LWTP)
Tiny, fast torpedo system unique to fast attack submersibles. Only useful against the smallest of vessels.
