Matra Type 116 rocket pod
This is (again) a huge improvement of my first type 116s.
"Honeycomb" multiple rocket launcher Matra Type 116, mounted on Type 131 pylon
The Matra type 116 is a rocket pod designed by the french company Matra in the 50s to carry 19 S.N.E.B. 68mm unguided rockets.
It has been developed by France in the 50's and equiped almost all the french fighters and attackers of the 50s and 60s, such as :
- Dassault "Ouragan"
- Dassault "Mystère" II
- Dassault "Mystère" IV
- Dassault "Super-Mystère" B.2
- Sud-Ouest "Vautour" IIA
- Vought F4U-7 "Corsair"
- Douglas AD-4NA "Skyraider"
- Vertol H-21 "Banane"
The Brandt SNEB 68mm rockets were the french equivalent of the american FFARs "Mighty Mouse" and the Type 116 pod was the equivalent of the LAU-3 (and similar) rocket launcher.
The combat use was terribly simple : the two aerodynamic cones were blown up when the first rocket was fired, and the pod detached automatically after it was empty.
There was a space of 33 milliseconds between each launch.
User manual :
To use as subassembly :
-> Grab the pod by detacher on its top, then save as subassembly.
To use in flight :
- Select "68mm SNEB" on the armament panel
- Press FireWeapons
to blow up the cones and fire the rockets.
If you use only one rocket pod and your device isn't laggy, all the rockets should be fired in 0.627 seconds (one rocket per 0.033 s)
- Once empty, the pod will be automatically jettisoned, just as in real life.
Features :
- Realistic ammunition : the rockets have the same size and weight as the real SNEBs.
- Realistic size (1:1)
- Realistic weight (Even the fuull & emty CoMs shown on the document match !!!)
- Realistic rate of fire (Rate of fire : 1,800 rockets/min)
Aircraft used for the thumnails : MethaManAircraft's "Vautour" IIA
(check it out, it's a bit old but that's such a good build ! He did an amazing job on this one)
Oh, and, please give me your feedback if you guys liked it ! It's always a pleasure to hear about how you use my builds :)
And please credit me if you use this in one of your builds...

@WarHawk95 Or that I can.
@WarHawk95 Not going to say that I can't speak french.
@WarHawk95 Because since most people can't see what language it is more likely that people don't know that it is discord.
@BRRRT what ?
why do you repost my invite ?

@Ptiju23 viens ici
@WarHawk95 oui ça m'interesserait beaucoup de vous rejoindre.
Car au final j'ai l'impression d'etre bien seul et que mes créations reste de l'ombre.
Du coup ça casse la motivation à m'investir plus dans mes projets
@Ptiju23 hey ! T'es français ?

@Trainzo merci !! ça fait plaisir !
@Armyguy1534 Yeah I though about it just after uploading :/
