Background

Federation

The Imparis F-111 Wendigo is a Federation supersonic, medium-range interdictor and tactical attack aircraft that fills the role of a strategic nuclear bomber, aerial recon, and electronic-warfare aircraft in various versions. Developed in the 1958 by Rostov, transferring work on the design to Imparis in 1962, it first entered service in 1967 with the Federation Royal Air Service. The F-111 pioneered a multitude of technologies such as variable-sweep wings, after-burning turbofan engines, and automated terrain-following radar for low-level flight at high speeds. Its design influenced later variable-sweep wing aircraft in the Federation such as the F-41 Heavenflow which later replaced it. Later modernizations improving the efficiency of the engines and electronic equipment kept the aircraft in service well into the 2000s.
