Mayfly is an experimental supersonic VTOL-capable interceptor with a unique hybrid of vectoring nozzles and afterburning turbojet.
Operation is simple.
AG1 engages the VTOL engine, and RCN system.
AG2 engages the primary engine.
VTOL nozzles are aimed with the VTOL slider.
VTOL takeoff throttle is 77%. Transition to level flight is as simple as switching on the main engine. With both engines burning (and VTOL nozzles facing aft), top speed is just shy of mach 2. Landing can be tricky, but is doable both rolling and vertically. There are no airbrakes or parachute since the VTOL nozzles can produce all the reverse thrust you need. Armed with 4 interceptor missiles.

@Sunnyskies oh
@AwesomeDesign717 I always consider it, but I'm very good at hovering, so I never find it necessary to use extra stabilization since I have such good grasp on the controls.
Also, you have to wait for the rotators to spin back when you shut them off (an amount of time equal to how long you had them running), and having them active negatively affects agility in level flight and maneuvering, so I never bother with them.
May I suggest that you use scaled down super-fast infinite rotators to stabilize it? Because they work, and they make it SULER SUPER SUPER STABLE!
@Sunnyskies Possibilities are endless...
@AwesomeDesign717 Thanks.
Definitely test this plane's full capabilities. It's seriously a fun plane to experiment with. It's my one of my newest favorites.
And yet F-104 only handles his hi-speed... @Sunnyskies
@Treadmill103 Thanks!
@JoddyFubuki788 Ye, that's pretty much the gist of what I was trying to accomplish here.
Like the F-104 huh? But now it's VTOL capable...
@Deloreandude Thanks! Yeah, the Starfighter was my primary inspiration.
Wow, it looks like a Eurofighter Typhoon mixed with an F-104, It looks and handles great! :D
