Convair F-106 Delta Dart
Sorry I haven’t been active for a while, the stress of the holidays has been getting me down. So, for my triumphant return, I bring you the F-104 Delta Dart!
Biography
The F-106 Delta Dart was an all weather interceptor used by the United States Air Force from the 1960s through the late 1980s. The F-106, most commonly called, “The Six” by its pilots, was the last interceptor the US Air Force would develop, and was one of the last aircraft to utilize the original P/F numbering system. The F-106 was used mostly in continental Alaska and Iceland, but it was also used lightly in Germany and Korea. Contrary to popular belief, the F-106 was not used in the Vietnam War. The jet would eventually be retired and converted into targeting drones.
Notes
-The paint job of the aircraft I built is that of the aircraft used in the Arctic circle.
-I am aware that I am missing the “USAF” insignia on the wings, I found it too difficult to get the shape and size of the letters right.
-The actual F-106 had a cargo bay that stored the aircraft’s missiles, but unfortunately, I was unable to replicate this in Simple Planes.
