Ilyushin 76 dates back to the mid-1960s. When the Soviet Air Force needed a strategic military transport aircraft capable of carrying 40 tons of cargo over a range of 5,000 kilometers, it could replace the Antonov Ivan-12. By 1969, Ilyushin proposed his initial proposal to the military, which was accepted, and the aircraft made its maiden flight on May 25, 1971. On his first flight, he was very satisfied for an hour, and a few months later he was sent to the Paris Air Show. The aircraft has four turbofan engines and operates in several European, Asian and African countries. Mass production of the aircraft first began in Tashkent, and 860 transport aircraft were produced before the 1990s. In the 1990s, a small number of modern and advanced aircraft were produced with new modifications and engines. In the following years, different types of this aircraft were produced, including two aircraft of the Brief A-60 model and 25 AWACS aircraft called the Brief A-50. [1]
