Ehhh... it's probably the fault of the design team, because the workmanship on Mitsubishi Pummelers is above average. @PINK

    Mmm.

2,100 Bandit Pummelers were constructed as kits to be assembled by Nagasaki Products and Armaments. These were assembled by assistance from Bandit.

The 4,200 made by Mitsubishi were manufactured completely by the company. ToJ Air Force pilots see no difference in quality. @PINK

Japan has a hard time approving their Mitubishi built types, for good reason. @Pilotmario

How does it ruin it? We don't build this model. @PINK

We are looking to abandon the continental system....... However, we have never really thought well of the type. Yes we do enjoy its weapons, however this Japaese version ruined it. @Pilotmario

Thought so. I don't think NFK High Command regard the type well, though men and women of the 111tg Mountain Infantry Regiment do (they were the regiment of NFK mountain troops in Snowstone). @PINK

They are. They're the AK-47 of airplanes. Any military force with a need for a cheap, durable attack plane and two coins to rub probably has one. @SimpleTechAndResearch

Wait, Japan also has Pummelers? Pummelers are Universal

Is the Pummeler vulnerable to Hammerheads? At high and medium altitude at long range, certainly. At lower altitudes in a close range turnfight at gun range as part of a Thatch Weave or Defensive Circle? Not a chance. While the Hammerhead is undoubtedly a superior fighter than the Pummeler, the Pummeler is not entirely hopeless.

Obtaining a missile lock on a Pummeler is a tricky business. Pummelers often fly with Buzz Birds, a term referring to electronic warfare aircraft with equipment designed to jam radars. In addition, the Pummeler's T2000-3/2 or T2000 engines do not produce hot jet exhaust, meaning IR guided missiles must be fired closer. In addition, the Pummelers are often fitted with chaff and flares in order to distract radar guided and IR guided missiles effectively. Already, Pummelers fly low and fast in dips in the terrain in order to reduce engagement time with ground-based air defenses, and such a flight profile would make it hard for missiles to engage them.

However, Pummelers rarely operate without air cover from friendly fighters such as Renegade II, Dart, Viper, and Bandit Cobra. Pilotmario Marines employ Bandit Cobra and Hummingbirds for protection. Said aircraft are much more even matches to the Teleta, Silbervogel, and Hammerhead. As a result, the main threat to Pummelers is the humble pintle-mount heavy machine gun, auto cannons, MANPADS, and SPAAG such as Coelian II. @Areonautics3
