Background

The Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck is an eight-wheel drive, diesel-powered, 12 ton, tactical truck used by the Federation and allied forces. In evolving configurations, it has been in continuous production since 1980. The M799 HEMTT entered service with the Royal Federation Army as a replacement for the Vladmir Military Truck. The HEMTT's objective is to provide heavy transport capabilities for supply and re-supply of combat vehicles and weapons systems. Compared to earlier generation trucks in Federation, it offers increased payload and mobility. The HEMTT is available in a variety of configurations, including cargo, tanker, tractor and wrecker.

By mid 2020, around 30,000 HEMTTs in various configurations had been produced by Rodion through new-build contracts and around 12,000 of these had been re-manufactured.
