Wiki: The Supermarine Spitfire is a British single-seat fighter aircraft used by the Royal Air Force and other Allied countries before, during and after World War II. Many variants of the Spitfire were built, using several wing configurations, and it was produced in greater numbers than any other British aircraft. It was also the only British fighter produced continuously throughout the war. The Spitfire continues to be popular among enthusiasts; about 54 remain airworthy, and many more are static exhibits in aviation museums throughout the world. The Spitfire was designed as a short-range, high-performance interceptor aircraft by R. J. Mitchell, chief designer at Supermarine Aviation Works, which operated as a subsidiary of Vickers-Armstrong from 1928. Mitchell pushed the Spitfire's distinctive elliptical wing designed by Beverley Shenstone to have the thinnest possible cross-section, helping give the aircraft a higher top speed than several contemporary fighters, including the Hawker Hurricane. Mitchell continued to refine the design until his death in 1937, whereupon his colleague Joseph Smith took over as chief designer, overseeing the Spitfire's development through its multitude of variants. During the Battle of Britain, from July to October 1940, the public perceived the Spitfire to be the main RAF fighter, though the more numerous Hawker Hurricane shouldered a greater proportion of the burden against Nazi Germany's air force, the Luftwaffe. However, Spitfire units had a lower attrition rate and a higher victory-to-loss ratio than those flying Hurricanes because of the fighter's higher performance. During the Battle, Spitfires were generally tasked with engaging Luftwaffe fighters—mainly Messerschmitt Bf 109E series aircraft—which were a close match for them. After the Battle of Britain, the Spitfire superseded the Hurricane to become the backbone of RAF Fighter Command, and saw action in the European, Mediterranean, and Pacific.

@AdlerSteiner You're welcome.
@Colonel1J2R3Wolf thanks.
@AdlerSteiner I am a plane historian(more of a hobby), but just letting you know, still a damn fine plane you got here.
@Colonel1J2R3Wolf o...k?
@AdlerSteiner Well you did better than I could do, but it's not a spitfire Mk.I, if it has cannons.
@F4f879 thanks! although i'm deeply sorry about the cannon placement.
Nice!!
@JettStorm my apologies about the cannon placement, i was a little bit light headed when i placed the cannons outwards instead near the prop, which is in. and i know the Mk1 had a 3 propellers but, i came up with a 4 prop instead, even though that's not the actual one was. but, thank you!
My only gripes are the cannons are outboard instead of inboard and its a 4 blade instead of a 3 blade (Since its a Mk.I). It is a really nice model tho, not many people can make a good looking spit.
Yeah, the cannons belong inboard of the machine guns, they just need to bee flipped with each other. Otherwise very nice!
Pretty nice but the cannon placement is not great but amazing detail
@AdlerSteiner sure~
@Fluffysheep hmmm I'll think about it. But right now I'm heading onto fictionals. But great suggestion!
You should make a boulton Paul defiant.
@JoddyFubuki788 sure! why not.
Good work~ but tbh the plane needs 8 guns instead of 4, if i may, i could make it for ya
@ACMECo1940 thank you!
nice
although i have an ai version of itwhich is already in the challenge.
@Gestour thanks! this shouldn't be in the challenge so, sorry bout' that.
@ThePilotDude ok.
@RichardFazbear @FastDan thank you!
It's wonderful!
Nice job !!!
@ThePilotDude no, this shouldn't be in gestours challenge, that's a mistake. but thanks!
