Gunship of the Valley of the Wind
[About Gunship of the Valley of the Wind]
Wikipedia
The Gunship of the Valley of the Wind is a small two-seater fighter aircraft that appears in "Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind".
"Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind" is a manga created by Hayao Miyazaki in 1982, which was adapted into an animated film in 1984 (from the staff who created this animated film, the future "Studio Ghibli" was born).
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind takes place in the near future. After the world war known as the "Seven Days of Fire," the world has been devastated, and the entire world has been covered by the "Sea of Decay," a forest inhabited by giant fungi that emit poisonous spores and giant insect-like creatures. Humans lived in the few remaining lands. The main character "Nausicaa" is the princess of the remote small country "Valley of the Wind. One of the few air power in the Valley of the Winds is the gunship. In a world where civilization has long since been lost, the gunship cannot be built anew, and is used while undergoing repeated repairs.
It is equipped with two large-caliber cannons in the nose and machine guns on both sides. In the film, the gunship is depicted firing signal rounds from the guns. The gunship has a two-seater configuration, with the front seat used for piloting and weapons operation, and the rear seat used for engine power adjustment. Three engine exhaust ports can be seen in the space between the main wings, one on each side. The gunship is a tailless aircraft, and its main wings have a gentle retraction angle. The moving wing has elevator and aileron functions, as well as flap and thrust reverser functions. The landing gear is equipped with skids as well as tires, enabling takeoff and landing on rough terrain and over water.
Its unique design is one-of-a-kind and the product of Hayao Miyazaki's creativity.
[About the work]
It's been a while since I built a fictional aircraft. Rough build as I don't have any detailed materials.
The cockpit is roughly reproduced.
I have not verified this because I do not have Simple Planes VR. Sorry.

Oh man, i loved this movie when i was like 12
nostalgia
@AntonWings This looks great! I love building Miyazaki's aircraft, but haven't played with this design at all.
@TheFlightGuySP
Thank you very much :)
@WinsWings
Oh, this was it. It's a transporter for the city of Pejite.
It's a simple yet distinctive design. And it's a design that would be interesting to make with SimplePlanes.
This looks amazing.
@AntonWings It is this one: image link
@WinsWings
Thank you for your comment.
I too like the flying machines depicted by Hayao Miyazaki. Is the red glider a "barge"?
@AlexRol05
Thank you. It was worth making :)
Alien Design... I Unironically Love This Thing!
@WhoflerMan well I did a little ago and found it and I’m probably going to watch it :)
@Hahahahaahahshs it's in the description bro, great movie
Where is this from
Beautiful. I love Miyazarki’s works. I was building the red transport gliders from that movie. I have not done yet.
Who needs aerodynamics?!
wow, I really like it when you make fictitious planes too, very nice very nice
