After the succes of the small jet fighter 'Wakizashi', Imperial engineers decided to manufacture bigger planes. However, due to a high restructurization costs, the high officers decided to instead create a variant of the Kara-2-Ka fighter, which would be given the code name of 'Yari'. Much bigger in looks thanks to changed wing design this machine still used same fuselage as 'Wakizashi' and same weaponry.
