Auto Credit Based on JABH's World War II Challenge (Closed)

The Il-4 was a WW2 soviet bomber largely produced from 1941-1944. The Il-4 (NATO reporting name, “Bob”) was a variant of the Ilyushin DB-3 bomber that was peoduced in the early years of the war. The Il-4 was a sturdy platform and its later version, the Il-6 was a diesel variant which made it faster but way more inefficient. The Il-4 had two gunners, a pilot, and a bombadier coming to a total of 4 crew.

The two gunners, the nose and ball gunners, were equipped with 7.62 mm machine guns. The bomb bay holds 12 bombs but it can be modified to hold a large torpedo.

AG:
AG1: Open Bomb bay
AG2: Drop Bombs
AG3: Lights
AG4-8: N/A

Enjoy!

Here's my opinion: (Don't take it personally)

    • Design: 10/10: I like the many details you added, a cockpit was missing, but the details cover that. good job!

    • Realism: 9/10: I like it. But there are some drawbacks. Pitch and roll agility is quite a bit, but it's ok. But, you can't take off, as the tires were too sensitive, you can't take off, let alone land.

    • Description: 8/10: You used Wikipedia, but there are instructions on AG. If there were more specs (like weight, top speed, cruise speed, etc.), you could achieve 10.

    • Maneuverability: 9.5/10: It's pretty agile, but it's OK.

    • Performance: 9.5/10: The bombs work perfectly, I like that. But the machine guns are no good. They break the rear and directly affect the body of the plane.

Good job! You did a great job, there are mistakes, but I hope you can learn from them. I give you a solution for the machine guns: Open XML/Overload, and you will find a command: "disableAircraftColision", and it will be in "false", change it to "true", so it won't hurt the plane and the performance will be better. You can damage enemy aircraft, congratulations!

@JABH Can you provide a detailed description? I found that the pivot often automatically clears data if its rotation is less than 10, because it defaults to a free pivot, but it may still occur even if it is not moved. The principle is that, for example, when the camera is turned to the right by one unit, the axis of rotation is rotated by 1 °. Actually, I hope it can be used together by both front and back players. AG1 can unlock the rear shot by 180 ° backward, but the front shot is still available for trial! So remember to return to your place

@ImLvLiCHN You did a good job, of course! You put a lot of effort into the plane, and even though there are several fatal mistakes like the one with the gunner, it can be a plane that anyone likes.

I prefer airplanes with cockpits, but you have done a great job with the exterior design and funkytree.(@jabh)Regarding the landing gear, after a simple experiment, I discovered the problem: you used a hydraulic rod to connect the wheels. I know this is to fully retract the landing gear into the fairing. If the landing gear is any shorter, the propeller will hit the ground. However, hydraulic rods (and springs) are very fragile, and their connections are always unstable. Even using a micro adjuster for misalignment can cause disconnection. This behavior is very obvious in low physics situations. Although it does not directly disconnect from the wheels, the wheels will fall to the ground and become soft. Using medium physics can alleviate this problem. Although it still looks soft and prone, my phone cannot run medium physics smoothly in general (it is too old and its performance is severely aging). However, your aircraft has fewer parts, so it can also be considered a mobile device friendly

@LimeAir Well, what happens to me is that when I start to gain speed, the landing gear breaks.

@JABH They aren’t meant to work and I know quite a bit about funkytrees, and what’s wrong with the tires? They’re fine when I use them. I can land and takeoff perfectly.
