The MD-80 was introduced to the mid-range airliner market as a predecessor to the successful DC-9. The MD-80 was a big hit in the airline market, becoming one of the world's more popular aircrafts. The awkward cockpit design features "Eyebrows", which gives the pilots more visibility over the skies. The MD-80 has seen it's day though. The 2 turbojet engines are proving to be not very fuel efficient and the design is old. The MD-90 got released later on with better Turbofan engines and a better fuel/passenger rating. As the MD-80 slowly creeps away from it's spot in aviation history, I have brought it back to life in this highy-realistic model of the McDonell Douglas MD-80 airliner. Enjoy!
