Fictional History
In the early years of jet experimentation and the quick ballooning of the cold war, the X series of aircraft began development. The Xs-204 (experimental seaplane) was developed around 1945 in an attempt to make jet aircraft sea worthy. The Xs-204 would eventually be deployed and even lead to other experiments such the Sea Dart (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ConvairF2YSea_Dart). On release the Xs-204 would be designated the Sea Dart, and its primary role was to be stationed in the South Pacific as a patrol craft and bomber interceptor against Chinese and Russian expansion. The program had a small crew and a few planes stationed on islands spread throughout the South Pacific. However, the isolated crews where often left to their own devices, and many would break from military discipline: painting their planes garish colors, taking locals and vacationers on joy rides, and even smuggling. As bombers became faster and eventually replaced by ballistic missiles, the Sea Hook program was discontinued. Many of the aircraft ended up in private hands, and was used in the short lived Pacific Air Race before finally disappearing into history.

AG: Lights.
Water takeoff: Trim up, power up slowly to 100%, pull up before nose starts to dip.
