FAD-38 Tomboy

Background

It seems to be a time of upgrading old aircraft. The advent of F-15EX as an upgrade of F-15 E (and probably C) makes us want to do the same. We have already the candidate for the upgrading program, the said aircraft is FAD-157 Gladius. But as time goes, it looks it would be better to make the fighter from scratch. By then, the program "Sky Muscle" commenced. "Sky Muscle" aircraft have to have low wing loading, high power, and the capability to engage air and ground. The airforce and the navy had a disagreement about the whole ordeal, so we decided we adopted 2 aircraft instead of 1 universal one to fill the role. The 2 said aircraft were given the nickname "Air Power Pack" by the public.

Design and Description

FAD-38 Tomboy carrier-capable supersonic, twin-engine, high-performance, variable-sweep wing multirole fighter aircraft The aircraft is completely different from its predecessor FAD-157 Gladius. It features FBW for smoothness and stability but also ensures maneuverability and also the possibility of the elimination of the leading edge flap, like F-15, as a reduction of moving parts (the focus for moving parts would be the swing-wing mechanism). Lifting body combined with FBW and low wing loading makes her a capable dogfighter.

For this "Sky Muscle" program, we agreed to make the cockpit commonality to its navy counterpart. We used an advanced digital cockpit with a HOTAS configuration.

Role

  • Multirole
  • Air superiority
  • Naval Interceptor

Armament

  • 3 x Grand Strike MK III Guided Bomb
  • 4 x BVR-21 Arjuna BVRAAM
  • 4 x AIM-9X SRAAM
  • 1 x 20mm Rotary cannon

Features:

- High AOA Capable and Turn rate

Capable of doing 40 degrees AOA with full flap, trim, and airbrake deployed with adjusting the throttle. Optimal turn rate (pitch rate), maintain speed at a range of M 0.4-0.6. One test in clean configuration she managed to do 30 degree/s sustained pitch rate

- FBW and Glimiter

FBW for stable flight even in asymmetrical wing swept shown above. Glimiter rated for max 9G, higher than most naval aircraft 8G.

- Working Variable Inlet

activated in Mach 0.8 to 1

- Demon Head Splinter Camo

Big-nosed demon with a horn or a smiley face. Looks like Squidward if you will. Utilizing fuselage slicing to do the thing.

- Auto Swing Wing

Range speed for wing swept started from Mach 0.5 to 1, done automatically

Control:

  • AG1: Afterburner
  • AG2: Airbrake
  • AG3: Arm Air to Air missile
  • AG4: Arm Guided bomb
  • AG5: Fuel Probe
  • AG6: Activate SINTREX Targeting motor (change to SINTREX camera view first)
  • AG6 & Gear Down: Carrier Hook
  • AG7: Jetison guided bomb and tank
  • AG8: Parking (Canopy & full wing swept for parking)
  • Trim: Trim
  • VTOL: Flaps

There's a side switch panel for light right next to the HOTAS.

Weapon Briefing:

- Grand Strike MK IV Guided bomb

Guided bomb similar to US JDAM series, guided by GPS and inertial. An improvement from my old Grand Strike MK II. This particular (MK III) is on 2000lb / 1000kg class munition. The operational range could be way higher but I set it for a more realistic sp performance.

Specification
Operational range: 8 km
Max targeting angle: 60
Guidance: GPS, Inertial
Weight: 1000 kg / 2000lb

- BVR-21 Arjuna BVRAAM

Beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile (BVRAAM), using air ducted rocket and ram engine to achieve longer range, similar to MDMA Meteor. Ideal for interception. Could be used in a dogfight but with limited performance.

Specification
Operational range: 210 km
Max Speed: Mach 4.5
Max targeting angle: 60
Guidance: Active radar homing

- AIM-9X SRAAM

Short air to air missile made by Blue0bull (KAI KF-6A Caraca). A very agile missile with 180-degree detection angle. Combined with aircraft maneuverability to achieve a formidable dogfighter.

Specification
Operational range: 20 km
Max targeting angle: 180
Guidance: IR

Note

  • Feel free to take the missile
  • I use high physics when building this so use the same setting
  • If your device cannot run this, try to set every quality setting to low
  • For optimal turn rate, use airbrake, full flap and trim, and afterburner and maintain speed at a range of M 0.4-0.6
  • Part damaged when firing gun: it is intentional for gunfire smoke effect. It just registered as hit, and deal no health decrease

Basically SU 33 + Tomcat

@PabrikBerat klo user buildnya warship mayan ada, lo coba masuk DC SP Indo. Klo buat VLS pake input pintu vls nya pake ammo()=x aja. Ini contoh sistem yg mirip vls : Eleison CIWS

Gorgeous plane! Like a hybrid between F-14 and Su-27

One of the best planes I've flown, but it would be nice if you could sweep back the wings without going to park mode cause that opens canopy

What program did you use to enhance the picture quality and what speed did you use on the rotator for the wing sweep?
