B/SF-17 StarFortress
WARNING: Minor spoilage ahead, go watch The Last Jedi.
This is my first Star Wars craft! It took WEEKS to build this and Im really proud of it. PLEASE READ CONTROLS.
VTOL up to about a little past the second notch for lift
AG 2-3 are the ball turrets and top turret, roll and trim to control.
Landing gear + AG 4-5-6 opens the bomb bay doors and releases the proton bombs.
ONLY release bombs in that sequence, or you could just press all of them to deploy the whole payload (4-5-6).
AG 8 Deactivates roll for bombing mode and turret mode (throttle to 5-10%, open Bay doors, go in the cockpit view and look down) there is a bombsight! Typically I use the first 3 notches for slow bombing.
Here is some info on the StarFortress;
The MG-100 StarFortress SF-17 was a heavy bomber manufactured by Slayn & Korpil. The starship featured three sublight ion thrusters, a single hyperdrive, and artificial gravity projectors. At the bottom-front of the ship strutted a targeting sensor mast, which contained a targeting sensor and active-tracking array. Two short range comms antenna were located along the top of the ship along its keel line. Jutting horizontally from the ship's profile were two stabilizer foils. In total, the ship was crewed by five individuals. A single pilot and flight engineer operated within the armored cockpit. The bombardier operated a targeting pedestal on the flight deck, and two gunners operated the rear and ventral ball turrets.
The B/SF-17's intended purpose was to deliver a payload of 1,048 proton bombs on top of a target. The modular bombing magazine, called the "clip" by the bomber's crew, would drop the bombs through sequenced electromagnetic plates in the clip, which propelled the bombs to "drop" in microgravity environments. The bombs would then be drawn magnetically to their targets. The assembly could be programmed to drop specific sections of the payload in sequence, but the most common configuration was "deploy all."[1] To drop the ship's payload, the bombardier on the flight deck monitored a concentrated sensor feed. The system calculated the optimum time for release, and the bombardier would launch the payload.

lmao writers couldn't come up with a good name so they just took a b-17 and starwarsified it
Can you make a mobile version of this pls
Nice
i know how you can make less lag . you gotta Remove from 6 Rails 3 complete Railings from the Bombs so less bombs less lag :)
What a original name
@SMHrubix sweet, can’t wait to see it!
@TimeTraveler Thanks, that means a lot. Ironically I'm finishing up a lower part count version and it looks better I think.
Besides other people here this is literally the best Star Wars build I have seen in a long time, nice work
@ThePilotDude Thanks! that means a lot. I actually got my inspiration on how to make this thing fly from @chancey21
@TimeTraveler That makes sense.
Respect to you, the creator, but to all of you who complain that it is really close to a real plane, have you not noticed that almost all ships are based on WWII history? Imperials (Imperial Japan)- Light, cheap, fast, and very destructible aircraft, large and strong navy, crew told that they should be able to give their life instead of retreat. America (Rebels, New Republic)- Quality, sometimes slower craft, focused on safety of their crew. See the similarities? I understand that its not much of a stretch to call it a "copy" or a "representation" of a real plane, but none of you say anything about anything else, just bringing that to your attention
@Geebers Yeah they made it too close to the b-17, I mean its called the b/sf-17 StarFortress. I still think its an ok ship.
Personally, I found this ship kinda lame in the movie. It’s such an obvious space copy of a B-17 to the extent that I was bored during it’s scenes. I like looking at original starships, not bland copies.
Please don’t take that as an insult to your build, I think it’s fantastic, but I just wanted to express my opinion on the ship scenes in the movie.
Beautiful, great work.
@chancey21 try keeping the plane simple, then adding detail, like building model planes.With the new tool they added you can make as much detail as you want, but the whole aircraft is up to you. When I build I have a picture of the aircraft on my tablet with multiple reference points. And take as much time as you need to build your plane, this one took literally a month or 2. Skill doesn't matter, it's the amount of time you put into the craft, then you will be the most skilled builder on SP
But I’m also ticked that this one got featured and I’m gold and still haven’t been featured. (I don’t have anything that deserves to be featured) @SMHrubix
@chancey21 np
Oh cool thanks @SMHrubix
SimplePlanes: good news! We've featured your aircraft!
Me: MA GET THE CAMERA
Thank you simpleplanes!
@TwentyFour thanks! @Ephwurd yeah the bombs get a little exited xD @chancey21 yours actually inspired me to build this. Everyone go check out @chance21's bomber! @4399ton Always. @ForeverPie Thats what Disney's best idea was I geuss... makes you think...@Gravity thanks! @laserborn88 yes I will get to work on that! Thank you all this means so much to me!
Nice!
It's the starship B-17 flying Fortress XD
mey the force be with you!
Not bad, it’s bettr than mine
