Diesler Di-40 A-2 Tulip
Di-40 A-2 Tulip
[Description]
The Diesler Flugzeugwerke Di-40 A-2 Tulip is a Trislandian made Multirole Fighter-Bomber aircraft, designed in 1935 and having its maiden flight in 1936, it serves as a cheaper and more readily available option to the So-17 Folgore, which in 1939 became the aircraft that was selected for use as Naval Fighter-Bomber, it has a prominent concave where the root of the wing meets the fuselage, a feature that was not yet widely understood yet at the time, and later known as Area Rule, its slight resemblance to the more well known Nakajima Ki-43 Hayabusa has fooled a lot of flyers over the years, however the aircraft was slowly been put into training role or phased out entirely when far more superior aircrafts is deployed on the theater, overall a decent stopgap for the Trislandia Navy that remained useful until the end of the war
